After MBBS I underwent post-graduation in paediatrics (DCh & MD) at Institute of Child Health and
Hospital for Children (ICH & HC), Madras Medical College.
I joined Government Medical service in 1986. Served at Thiruvanthipuram PHC after MD and moved to KGH/ MMC as Asst. Professor, Department of Paediatrics in 1990 and worked there for 5 years.
Underwent a fellowship training in Neonatal Intensive Care at West Mead Hospital, Sydney, Australia from 1995-97.
On return to India, joined as Asst. Professor of Neonatology at ICH & HC and was employed there till
2006. Promoted as Associate Professor to Thoothukudi Medical College and later transferred to
Chengalpattu Medical College.
In 2009, came back to Chennai as Professor of Neonatology, MMC and currently Professor and HOD,
Department of Neonatology at ICH & HC /MMC Chennai. I do my private consultancy at Apollo
Hospitals, Ayanambakkam, Chennai
My husband, R.Kumarasami, is a civil engineer and my only son, R.K.Ramdayalan, has completed his
MS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, USA.
