Greetings Spartans,
The 2015-2016 year begins on Monday, August 10th, and we are excited to see our returning Spartans and
welcome the new Spartan Class of 2019. Please mark your calendars now and plan to attend our annual
Spartan Gear-up Days which will be held on August 6th and 7th. This is an excellent opportunity for students,
especially new students, to pick up important items such as schedules, textbooks, lockers, and available
parking passes. Please read this flyer in its entirety, as it provides valuable information that will save you
time and make your experience at Gear-Up Day a wonderful one. I encourage parents to become a part of
one of our many parent organizations outlined in this letter. We are thankful for our many parent
volunteers. The deep support of parents and the community has a very positive impact on our school.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and I look forward to meeting you soon. On the school’s website, I offer
our students six important tips to start the year well and to help our students follow the path of success.

1. Join the PTO prior to Gear-Up Days to get your Fast Pass through registration lines.
Each student, parent and teacher is expected to become a member of the Spartan Nation PTO in order to
support all of the school’s events and teacher appreciation programs that occur throughout the school year.

2. Join the Spartans Athletic Booster Club (SABC) online at www.NorthSpringsSpartans.org
All Athletes at NSCHS are expected to join SABC once/school year and all incentive gifts for joining can be picked
up at the SABC table during Gear-Up Days.
3. Donate to Friends of North Springs Foundation (FONS) at www.NorthSpringsSpartans.org
FONS funds critical needs and educational opportunities of the NSCHS school, staff and student body.
4. Join Friends of Math and Science (FOMAS) to support the Math & Science Academy and its students. Basic
membership begins at $10 (cash, check or credit) and $25 donation will include one ticket to the Spring
Banquet. All Math & Science magnet students are expected to join FOMAS.

5. Join the North Springs Theatre Community Boosters & sign-up for the Drama Boot Camp (new students only)

All theatre magnet students are expected to join this booster at the $25 level.
6. Seniors should have received a pre-scheduled appointment in the mail for senior yearbook photos. If you did
not receive this or need to reschedule, please contact Lifetouch Studios at 678-554-2134.
BRING TO GEAR-UP DAYS:
1. Proof of Residency: NEW students enrolling in NSCHS must have Proof of Residency. Please refer to
documents needed on the school website www.NorthSpringsHigh.com under the “Parents” tab and then
“Registration and Forms”.
2. Money: Cash and/or Money Orders are preferred to pay NSCHS fees. Checks can only be accepted if current
address is on check and a matching ID is shown. Credit cards, checks and cash are accepted by parent-run
organizations.
PTO/Various Booster Member Dues (if not paid in advance on website): Cash/Check/Credit Card
Locker dues: $10 Cash only
Senior Dues: $105
Marching & Concert Band: $200 Concert Band only: $25 Orchestra Fees: $50
Parking Passes: Juniors & Seniors Only: $125 Money Order only made out to “NSCHS”
Yearbook/Oracle/Echo purchase price reduced at registration only (Check made out to “Jostens”)

3. Student IDs: Returning students should bring ID Cards to make textbook pick-up fast and easy.
All past due accounts must be resolved or past textbooks returned before any new textbooks will be released.
