Applications for admission to the May class will be accepted between August 1st-October
1st of the year prior to beginning the second degree nursing program. Letters of acceptance
will be sent out after December 1 after the applications are due and reviewed.
It is possible for the class to be full early in the academic year. Students may apply to the
traditional program as a nursing direct admit if seeking admission after the Bachelor’s to
BSN: Second Degree Program annual class has been filled.
Students who have earned an initial Bachelor’s degree from Brockport or other institution
must be admitted directly into the major of nursing if accepted by the college, and may not
be admitted as a nursing intent.
Students in this program will be available for federal financial aid as long as not all federal
financial aid has been used by the student for their previous degree.
It is possible that students who have Bachelor’s degrees from private institutions may not
have all general education requirements met, therefore should be advised accordingly.
If students do not pay their deposit within three weeks of being admitted, they will be
dropped from the summer cohort.
