HSE South – South Tipperary Department of Psychology ‘Providing Professional Psychology Passionately - Enhancing Quality of Life’ Additional Information regarding South Tipperary posts:- Temporary Staff Grade Clinical Psychologist: Primary Care Services, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary This post provides essential psychological support to children and families from 0-18 yrs of age. Children referred have a range of emotional and behavioural problems such as anger Problems, Mild anxiety / Separation Anxiety, Adjustment Disorders, Loss / Bereavement, Infant Mental Health related concerns, Emotional Regulation Problems, Low self-esteem, Attachment / Bonding Problems. This service provides assessment and therapeutic intervention for children in the care of the HSE and support to the foster carers. This service offers clinic based brief intervention and the Social Care Leader on our team provides Home Based Interventions for families who require further intervention, following assessment. The Psychologist will be part of a team of 5 Psychologists and 1 Social Care Leader. Supervision will be provided by the Senior Clinical Psychologist. The Psychologist will be based in South Tipperary Therapy Services, Western Rd., Clonmel , South Tipperary. As with other parts of the South East Clonmel is a very attractive town to live in, many amenities, in the heart of the Comeragh, Knockmealdown Mountains and home to Slievenamon. Cork city is approximately 1 hours drive away and the coast is 40 minutes drive. Temporary Staff Grade Clinical Psychologist: Adult Mental Health Services, Rehabilitation and Recovery Team The Rehabilitation and Recovery team is based in Morton House, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary and offers support to service users with enduring mental illness and complex needs whose needs cannot be met by the general adult mental health services. This post provides essential psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention for patients on the Rehab team. Patients present with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. The post is embedded in a team which currently consists of a Consultant Psychiatrist, a non consultant hospital doctor, a Clinical Nurse Manager3, outreach nursing staff and administration support. There are two 24 hour nurse staffed supported residences, Lorica in Cashel , Co. Tipperary (10 beds) and Carraig Oir, Clonmel , Co. Tipperary (12 beds). The Psychologist will be supervised by a Senior Clinical Psychologist in Mental Health.
