Table of GSIM Sprint Suggested Inputs Suggested Inputs 1. Mapping of different data and metadata standards 2. Documentation about technical initiatives such as DDI, SDMX, CORE 3. Mobilisation of the community utilising the wiki 4. Information architecture models 5. Stakeholder views from METIS, EuroStat, SDMX, DDI Work to be undertaken Contributor Some indicative context mapping is underway at the level of Relationships between Resources as shown in Part B of the UNECE Common Metadata Framework (CMF). This shows what existing standards (rather than a blank sheet of paper) might contribute to design of GSIM and then (more importantly) how GSIM could help align data and metadata standards from a business perspective in future. At this stage it is not proposed to attempt more detailed mapping in advance of the Sprint. It is proposed a sheet will provide links to documentation information about other information standards (eg CMF Part B, relevant discussion documents from SDMX/DDI Dialogue). In regard to CORE, a presentation will also be arranged. Have assumed to date that we don’t need presentation on GSBPM. GSIM Sprint section established on the METIS wiki for publication of background papers, research and discussion. Invites contribution from interested stakeholders. Broad models on the context of GSIM have been developed. At this stage it is not proposed to present more detailed architectural models in advance. Interviews will be conducted with nominated participants agreed by the HLG- ABS Included in Sprint Due date if Program applicable Proposal to include posters 10 February of mappings as input to the discussions throughout the Sprint program ABS and others (eg CORE team) Day 3 includes a ‘showcase’ session to allow presentation of relevant materials 10 February ABS, UNECE Secretariat Operational now and will continue through the Sprints N/A ABS (+ others if more detail is required?) All Broad context models will be input to discussions throughout the Sprint program. Feedback from initial interviews will be provided 10 February 7 February 1|Page Table of GSIM Sprint Suggested Inputs Suggested Inputs communities 6. Interviews with HLG-BAS members 7. Customer perspectives from business areas with an understanding of IM 8. Teleconference with people Work to be undertaken BAS Secretariat. Current list (beyond Secretariat) is Participants in Sprint Members of OCMIMF collaboration Dan Gillman Isabel Morgado Statistics Korean (if don’t participate) August Goetzfried (SDMX Secretariat) Mary Vardigan (DDI Alliance) (Even wider coverage would be ideal, but arranging, conducting and synthesising interviews is resource intensive.) Are there any additional stakeholders to interview prior to Sprint 1? Note also that all stakeholders have the opportunity to contribute views on the wiki Continued engagement will occur with interested stakeholders throughout the Sprints, as required. Should we also conduct interviews with some or all HLGBAS members? (Secretariat decision) There are participants with business and methodology backgrounds in the Sprint, and also input from interviews and from HLG-BAS itself. Is further required in advance in this regard and, if so, what would the Secretariat suggest? See 5. Above. Intelligence and other approaches from other sectors 10. Enterprise architecture models and standards associated with these 11. Is there a possibility of developing a common taxonomy and thesaurus for NSIs? 12. Consider lifecycle management for GSIM so it can adapt to future requirements 13. Build on what we have – don’t start from scratch Work to be undertaken currently includes US, Portugal. There could be one further multipoint discussion before the Sprint based on expressions of interest via the METIS wiki page? Summary information about different approaches from other industries. At the moment this will be based on one case study (air space management) undertaken by the ABS. Are there other suggestions, and possibly volunteers? It would be possible to provide summary information about enterprise architecture and standards. At the moment not prioritised ahead of other input by the ABS. This is currently seen as a consideration to be addressed in the Sprint scope discussion rather than an area for a lot of work prior to the Sprint.
