Student watched teacher delivery of lessons and picked up on details then was able to teach the lesson herself with a later class. She also involved herself with the core of teachers whenever the opportunity presented itself. Student was professional, polite and creative. I truly appreciated her solid efforts. It was a pleasure having her in my classroom. She will be an asset to our profession. Student has completed her junior year clinic here at North Windham School. During her stay, I had the opportunity to work with Student in my kindergarten classroom. She worked in my room every Monday and was exposed to all areas of the curriculum. Staci worked with individual students helping them in writing and math. She also worked with small groups of students who varied in their learning abilities during skill tables. What I found most refreshing about Student is that she has a natural ability to organize and think quickly about how to proceed with a task. She is quick, yet patient, displaying very good behavioral management skills. She demonstrated an ability to keep the children engaged in their work, always responding in a positive way to their needs; yet she didn't allow them to take advantage of her position. Student also helped out with bulletin board displays and she was an asset in preparing the children for their presentation on insects. She was involved in costume design and creation. She assisted the children during practice helping them find a voice for the poem they wrote and giving them pointers on stage presence. It was a pleasure to have Student in the classroom. I was impressed with Student's positive attitude and friendly attitude. The children liked having her in class. She worked with individuals to complete tasks as well as did periodic reading assessments. It was a pleasure having her in my class this semester. I feel that Student’s involvement and interest in the clinic experience decreased some throughout her time in my classroom. From my viewpoint, her participation in activities both in and out of the classroom lessened. I do believe that Student has the ability to be a wonderful classroom leader, I just do not feel that she worked to her best potential in this experience. Student often changed the days and times of her clinic experience which made it difficult to plan. Student was very professional and took an active role in our classroom. Student did an excellent job working with students with a wide range of exceptionalities in a variety of subjects. She was very professional and proactive and had great rapport with the students. Student was a welcome addition to the Goodwin Elementary community. She is extremely observant and was able to pick up on students' strengths and needs as well as appropriate instructional strategies and language that were used to instruct, maintain attention, and assess learning. Student primarily was an observer this semester within my classroom, however when asked, administered spelling tests, played reading and math academic games, read with individual students at their independent level, worked with guided reading groups, supported students in the regular education classroom and participated in morning meeting activities. She demonstrated a positive rapport will all students and they looked forward to seeing her. I would encourage Student to continue to take more initiative within the classroom. She is in a leadership position and asking for more will continue to help her become a stronger teacher. I would also encourage Student to learn more about different disabilities and how to teach students with specific weaknesses, since this is a majority of students whom Special Educators and Regular Educators work with in the classroom that struggle. Student has successfully completed her Clinic Placement for the spring and is ready to continue her professional growth as a teacher. We will miss her at Goodwin and wish her the best of luck! Student always arrived on Monday mornings with a bright smile and enthusiasm to match. She continuously sought out my advice, opinions, & techniques so she could understand the complete process of teaching in a comprehensive way. Her interest in the students through questions and comments was genuine and refreshing. I feel she will be an excellent asset in any school district. It was a pleasure to work with Student and I can say I am proud to have him as a colleague and a friend. Student worked with a very difficult population. This profession will be lucky to have her. Student is an asset to our classroom. She interacts well with the students. It was a pleasure having Student in class. All of my students valued her presence here. She was constantly engaged with the students, providing whatever assistance she could. I would suggest that Student be a little more assertive during her observations, seeking out ways to become more of an instructional presence in the room and coming forward w/ ideas based upon her review of the curriculum and what she sees in class. Student has been a great addition to our classroom! She is always willing to help with lessons and one on one student instruction. She will be greatly missed.
