Please feel free to contact me as needed. 1 Trimester – ½ credit “Major concepts addressed in this course include mutations, heredity, genetic principles, DNA and RNA, recombination, and viruses” Classroom Procedures: Be on time! School tardy policy is in the Student Handbook. It is followed strictly. Teacher dismisses students at the end of class, not the bell. You will have assigned seating, stay in your assigned seat! Be prepared! Bring all supplies (book, notebook, paper, pencil) each day. This is not your lunch time, leave your snacks / food away. Be respectful to all members of the classroom. Show others the respect you wish to receive. Follow ALL Safety Guidelines. Horseplay in the classroom or laboratory will not be tolerated. Clean up your area before leaving the classroom. If you use my supplies they must be put back in their place before you leave. The school’s “Absentee Grading Procedure” will be followed. Other late work acceptance is up to the teacher’s discretion. If accepted, points will be deducted from original value. Tests & Quizzes will count 60% and Labs, Projects, & other work will count 40% of your final grade. A notebook will be kept for Notes and Bellwork. This will be checked to make sure you are staying up-to-date. It’s contents may also be quizzed over. Copying is NOT tolerated! Be sure all work submitted is your own. The school’s “Plagiarism Policy” will be followed. -- “Once a piece has been deemed plagiarized or unacceptable for portfolio inclusion: A. That paper will receive a grade of zero (0). B. The student will then have one week to revise the paper to include proper documentation and/or use of his or her own words rather than relying on the source's working. C. If the proper corrections are made, the student will then be given a grade of no higher than eighty (80) percent for that piece. D.
