1. Listen to one or more season songs to get the
pupils minds going

2. Time, date, weather, season. Does the weather
match the season? What is the typical weather like
in the season we’re in now?
3. What comes to mind when you hear the word
seasons?
- Do a brainstorm in small groups with all the
words that comes to mind when you think
of seasons: Weather, colours, traditions,
foods, clothes, activities- Swap your brainstorm with another group
and spend a few minutes adding more
words
- Categorise your words according to the four
seasons
- Hang the word in the classroom

Match phrases/descriptions to
pictures:
Example 1: The teacher finds loads of pictures
depicting the different seasons and makes a bunch
of seasonal words on small pieces of paper. In
smaller groups, the pupils get a bunch of words on
small pieces of paper. They now have to match
their words with the pictures. What words belong
to the spring pictures, what words belongs to

Talk about all the pictures and the words they have
attached to each picture (the whole class).
Creative task: dressing cut-out dolls
according to seasons

Oral presentations of the seasons
Example 2: The pupils work together to and to.
Each pair gets two cut-out dolls
(påklædningsdukker) a boy and a girl. Each pair
gets two seasons to work for example summer and
winter or spring and fall. They now have to dress
the cut-out dolls according to the seasons they
have. Use magazines to cut out the clothes.
Makes four big circles somewhere in the classroom,
one for each season (or four pieces of cardboard).
The pupils will now hang their cut-out dolls in the
right circle.
Sum up the work they have done in class.
Example 1: Divide the pupils into smaller groups.
Each group is assigned a season (more groups can
work with the same season). They now have to
draw a picture depicting the assigned season (use
big pieces of paper A3 or cardboard). When they
are finished with their pictures, they have to fill in
some of the words they have learned in their
picture. Hang the pictures in the classroom.
Finish with a follow up for example small
presentations of their work.
Example 2: Student interview – “Which season do
you like best?”
