Team-Plan-2015-16-template - Vale of Glamorgan Council

advertisement
Team planning plays an integral part in the Council achieving its strategic aims. Team Plans are the third
level of the ‘Golden Thread’ which consists of the Corporate Plan, Service Plans, Team Plans and
PDRS/TDRS. It is very important to disseminate the information contained in a service plan into team plans
as this helps focus a team’s priorities and ensures the service works as one to achieve its goal of continuous
improvement.
Team Plans also inform the PDRS/TDRS process and will help identify actions and objectives for individual
members of staff. This better aligns the contribution of individuals to corporate priorities.
Completing the Plan
Please involve your team in the writing process, as they will be the ones carrying out the actions identified.
This template has been designed around your Service Plan to help align your team closer to corporate
priorities. Highlighted below is a brief summary of each section you will need to complete including guidance
notes:

In terms of length of plan, the key is to ensure that the essential work of your team is identified, so that key
tasks can be highlighted and assigned to staff through the PDRS process. Don’t include elements of the
service plan that are irrelevant to your plan- the team plan’s content should link to the service plan,
but not a direct copy. You should identify the milestones that will assist in achieving the relevant targets
and actions in your service plan.
What should I do once I finish my team plan?
Once you have completed your plan, please ensure it is signed off by your Head of Service/ Director and
published on your StaffNet homepage. All team plans need to be completed and returned to Alex Yates by
no later than 30 June 2015. We will be quality checking a sample of plans in July and will feedback on these
to relevant Heads of Service.
What if I have a question about my Team Plan?
If you have any queries in relation to team planning, please contact a member of the Improvement and
Development Team who will be happy to help (Alex Yates ext: 607, Julia Esseen ext: 287, or Julia
Archampong ext: 318).
