 “Using a Dictionary” Smart Exchange lesson and activity
 As a whole group complete Ready Common Core “Using a Dictionary or Glossary”

Dictionary and Thesaurus
 In cooperative learning groups complete “Dictionary Skills” activity to search for
words in a dictionary and list the definition, page number, and guide words
 The class will use a thesaurus to make “synonym rolls” resembling cinnamon rolls
 Thoughtful Education: Spider List (Dictionary Terms)
Glossary
 Students will study a glossary of KPREP terms and standards. They will complete the
“Glossary Scavenger Hunt” to define the terms and make connections among the
concepts.
