



Christmas Girls Basketball Tournament – hosting on Dec 27th and 28th at the high school and at CMS;
the first is a full day with the second a shorter day. There are no refreshments at CMS, so it would
be great if we could supply even drinks and candy/chips.
AAA Showcase – January 9th at 6:15 pm for the 8th graders; come to see the school and learn about
clubs, sports and activities. We will set up a table for selling Rocket Wear.
Ellithorpe Road – everything is leveled behind HBT, but will be graded and grass planted for another
soccer field after the drain tile is fixed.
Future Wish List Items – on Dec 13th future wish list items will be presented such as water for teams,
locker room facility upgrades, storage facility, etc. Some of the items to be presented are new wall
pads, new banners, new ventilation, and redoing the gym floor.
Other Sports – we are trying to coop with other schools for lacrosse, but have been rejected by
Dundee Crown and Wheaton Academy. The 7th graders have also inquired about tennis; no team
now, but they will have the ability to compete as individuals like swimming
President’s Report: K. Gannon reported that we need a new liaison for softball, which is currently the
only open liaison position. We are also missing the spirit wear popup tent; please keep your eyes open
for it.
The scholarship committee met and they have a plan which will be sent out for general review once
finalized. Plan to have it available in February for students to access it before spring break. Selections
will be made the end of April and presented at the Senior Awards Night.
Vice-President’s Report: S. Morgan had no report
Treasurer’s Report: C. Fitzgerald reported that there is $13,147.79 in available funds. Thank you notes
were received from Susan G. Komen and Make a Wish foundations.

Invoices will be sent out for the scoreboard donors to remind them. Also if you are a liaison that orders
Pepsi products, let Colleen know so she knows what bills belong to the Booster Club; provide your name
and where you want the product delivered in the comment section when ordering from Pepsi.
Funding Requests: None
Website: The executive board met with Sheila prior to the Booster Club meeting. The following was
discussed:

We are currently making 3 separate payment of about $800/year – Go Daddy for the domain name,
Blue Host for hosting the website, and Web Works for the content management. Sheila found a
local company (parent at Lily Lake) that will host for a one-time fee of $600.

The current website is difficult to update and requested revisions are not updated in a timely
fashion. The new hosting option will give us the ability to make updates to the website ourselves.
Scholarship Update: See president’s report.
Liaison Reports
Boys Basketball: C. Fitzgerald reported they are off to a slow start with no wins to date. They are
looking to make some changes for concessions to make it easier to cover by possibly assigning different
sports to cover specific nights, and then basketball parents will cover for other sports. This is because
parents want to watch their kids play. P. Conn suggested using Doodle.com to post concession
schedules and allow parents to see what is available and sign up as they are available; it has worked well
for Track.
Girls Basketball: L. Holt reported that they are off to a good start; JV is undefeated, and Varsity is 7 and
1 – finally beating Hampshire. She will be sending an email about team dinners and also asking for help
with the tournament. Try asking NHS students needing volunteer hours; Laurel Bradley is the advisor.
We are hosting Regionals and will need concession help; boys tournament is around Feb 25-27, with the
girls tournament the week before.
Cheer: No report
Cross Country: M. Slager reported that they had their dinner and all were recognized individually with a
goody bag of a picture CD set to music. Unfortunately no one made it to state this year.
Draw Down: M. Schuetta spoke to Eagle’s Club who gave us a great bargain; rental of $450 (usually
$625) with $225/keg which includes bartenders. April 20th (6:00 pm) is penciled in as the date; need a
$250 deposit check, and post the date on the CHS Events website (prom is 4/27). S. Diversey will make
sure the event is added to the calendar. Eagle’s Club has a new chef and may do catering through them.
Notes: AAA Night for 8th grade - discussion on handing out Rocketwear and Draw-down flyers the
evening of the event.
Football: S. Gorman and C. Papenhause to be joint liaisons next year. They had their banquet on 11/18
in the Commons; may need to go elsewhere next year due to size. Concessions – thinking of changing
up the grill next year – need electric and a cover; S. Diversey and K. Gannon have been discussing this as
well – maybe adding a mobile element for the visitors or moving the location. The big charcoal grill is
rotted out, so will need replacing; also wondered if it was possible to get access to an ice machine.

Golf: J. Dell reported that the banquet was held last night to a great turnout. One boy and one girl
made it to state; congratulations! State shirts are to be handed out. Draw down money was collected – a
specific amount wasn’t asked for, which resulted in bigger donations.
Golf Outing: S. Diversey reported that his brother, who is in the army, can get commission flags to
auction off next year.
Poms: P. Lyons reported that the basketball performances have begun; the girls looked great! They
have also begun planning a Poms Clinic fundraiser for Saturday, Feb 2nd. We will forward the number of
registrations to C. Fitzgerald for concession numbers when they are available.
Rocketwear: P. Lyons reported that we met with J. Houghtby from BSN Sports. We provided some
items in royal, black, gray, or white with specific logos, and they will make these available on their
website for a 2-week period. Once the sale closes, products will be ordered and packages with the
buyer’s name. Bags will be sent to the Athletic Office where students can pick them up. There are a
minimum number of items having a specific logo to get the quoted price; any amount charged that is
over the base quoted price will be Booster Club profits. The advantage to using BSN is the ability to get
name brand clothing. The plan is to try it this winter and see how it goes.
Some ideas were to have child and tall sizes available, have weather proof sweatshirts available, and try
pink breast cancer-awareness items for fall.
Boys Soccer: Coach is excited about the addition of the new field off of Ellithorpe. The entire tree line
has been removed. There is now a large amount of space available.
Girls Soccer: Hired a Girls Soccer coach (Steven Barry) and will meet with girls next week. New coach
has 23 years of experience. He has done HS and club level coaching, and worked with Junior Olympics;
he is excited to begin working with the girls. Everyone is very excited to have him join the program.
Softball: No report; looking for a liaison; if anyone knows of anyone, please pass it on to Kevin Gannon.
Baseball: K. Anderson reported that after school work outs have started.
Boys Track: P. Conn asked if we could clean out the stands. AD responded that it will be their 'winter
project'. We are hosting Kane County Boy’s and Girl's Sectionals this year on Friday May 10th.
Girls Track: No report
Volleyball: R. DeTamble asked if there are any responsibilities for the liaisons at AAA evening. The head
coaches should be there with assistants. No obligation for liaisons at this time.
Wrestling: No report
Other: None
Motion to adjourn: C. Fitzgerald; 2nd: C. Papenhause. All in favor; none opposed. Motion passed;
meeting adjourned at 8:25 pm.
