Key messages for each year group are as follows: First year students - use the tutorial to generate ideas, consider skills and find out about internships. Second year students - explore options and choose what to do next, apply for and record your work experience Final year students - it’s not too late, use the tutorial to find out what you can do now to secure work or further study Students need work experience! Over 50% of Times Top 100 recruiters say that candidates without any previous work experience have “little to no chance of receiving a job offer” with their organisation’s graduate scheme. Find out what employers are really looking for, learn tips and techniques for answering those tricky questions and find out how to make the most of your experiences to help you stand out from the crowd. CV’s for International Students Week 3: 16/10/15, 12.00-13.00, AEW/003 Learn how to develop a CV for the UK job market. Winning CV’s Week 5: 28/10/15, 15.00-16.00, D/L/036 Learn how to develop an effective CV and cover letter for job or postgraduate study applications. This session will look at what to include and what is considered appropriate and an effective use language in a UK CV. Numerical Tests Week 5: 28/10/15, 17.00-18.30, LFA/015 And repeated: 30/10/15, 17.00-18.30, LFA/015 Are you currently applying for graduate jobs which require you to pass numerical and logical reasoning tests? Don’t leave this to basic common sense – it’s not as easy as you think! Preparation and practice is KEY!
