Australia Awards Benefits
Australia Awards Scholarships are offered for the minimum
period necessary for the individual to complete the
academic program specified by the Australian education
institution, including any preparatory training.
Scholarship benefits include:
• return air travel
• one off establishment allowance on arrival
• full tuition fees
• contribution to living expenses
• introductory academic program
• OSHC (overseas student health cover) for the duration of
the scholarship

meet a range of the Papua New Guinea Department of
Personnel Management requirements including:

interview. Applicants will be assessed against the following

Outcomes
It is anticipated that applicants will receive notification as to
whether they have successfully progressed to the next
stage by the end of May 2015 and that that the outcomes
of the selection process will be published in the Papua New
Guinea National press in late July, 2015.
The Australia Awards – PNG Facility has an information
resource centre that is equipped with resource
materials from participating education institutions as
well as computers that individuals can access Monday
to Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm. Facilities are also
available for disabled persons.

Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships
The program supports people from select Pacific countries,
including Papua New Guineans, to study in Papua New
Guinea. Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships for Papua
New Guineans are currently focused on the health and
education sectors. Papua New Guineans from rural areas
are particularly encouraged to apply.
