NATIONALLY RECOGNISED CURRICULUM TEMPLATE This template is to be completed by schools who are implementing curriculum that is included on the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority’s (ACARA) Recognition Register (as at 30 September 2013) The Western Australian School Curriculum and Standards alternative curriculum (and/or reporting on student achievement) recognition process seeks to determine the extent to which a curriculum can deliver educational outcomes for students that align with the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline. Any nationally recognised curriculum that is included in ACARA’s Recognition Register (as at 30 September 2013) for Pre-primary to Year 10 English, Mathematics, History and Science will be recognised as an approved curriculum for implementation in Western Australian schools with the following caveats: schools seeking this recognition need to confirm in writing, by completing the School Curriculum and Standard’s Authority’s National Recognised Curriculum template to certify that their curriculum is consistent with that provided to ACARA in their application for recognition; this approval will not extend to subjects/learning areas in Phases 2 and 3 of the Australian Curriculum; when the P-10 curriculum is articulated in all learning areas (including Phase 2 and 3 subjects/learning areas) in the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline recognition of alternative curriculum will need to be sought from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority; and this recognition does not include exemption from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority’s Reporting Policy: Pre-primary to Year 10. Completion of the Nationally Recognised Curriculum template provides information to the School Curriculum and Standards Authority’s Recognition Review Panel to enable certification that their curriculum is consistent with that provided to ACARA in their application for recognition. The School Curriculum and Standards Authority will check ACARA’s Recognition Register to determine if ACARA has provided national recognition of the curriculum identified by the school that has completed this template. If this is confirmed then the recognition of the curriculum will be added to the School Curriculum and Standards Authority Register of Recognised Curriculum and the school will be advised. 2015/34030 NATIONALLY RECOGNISED CURRICULUM TEMPLATE PART A: GENERAL INFORMATION Name of school Year levels offered Manager/Other authorised leadership Governing authority Executive officer Organisation address Unit/Suite No. Street No. Street name Suburb State Telephone Fax Email Website Postcode Has the curriculum being implemented at the school identified above previously received recognition endorsement from the Australian Curriculum and Reporting Authority (ACARA)?
