






Student can only have 1 IEP at a time
Cannot create 2 IEPs on same day
If create on 2 days, 2nd can replace 1st
If 2 outcomes, report as one event
Outcome dates cover both outcomes
Report outcome that will be in place day IEP is completed
If outcome changes by Oct 31 report FN270 (in the following school year!)
PS to KG IEP Example: Team meets May 1 to write IEP that covers remainder of PS
year (outcome IEaa) and KG next year (outcome IEbb):






Reported in Final “S” Window of current school year
Event Date is May 1
Outcome is IEaa
Outcome Begin Date is when IEaa starts
Outcome End Date is when IEbb ends
If IEbb from this IEP in place on Oct 31, report FN270 (in the following school
year!)
NOTE: IEaa & IEbb – the aa represents a PS outcome and the bb represents a
KG outcome.
The Feds go by age (5=PS) for the December Child Count
The state goes by grade level (PS or KG regardless of age).
Student is still age 5 on 10/31:
 Report IEP Event in Final “S” Window of current school year (due to Spring IEP
date)
 DO NOT enter LRE in FN270 (in the following school year) as nothing has
changed
Student is age 6 on or before 10/31:
 Report IEP Event in Final “S” Window of current school year (due to Spring IEP
date)
 ENTER SCHOOL AGE LRE in FN270 (in the following school year) as LRE now
must be a school age LRE for KG students who are 6 years old
