Schiller International University- Standard Operating Procedure Manual Department: Academics/Admissions/Registrars/Financial Aid/Campus Directors Department Procedure: InterCampus Transfer Students (ICT) Effective Date: January 1, 2015 Policy/Procedure DETERMINING STUDENTS CAMPUS OF RESIDENCY When a student is enrolled as a hybrid student (physical campus courses and online courses) or decides to transfer to a different campus location within Schiller it may be difficult to determine which campus the student should be enrolled in within CampusVue. This procedure is being established to bring clarity to these types of situations. Please keep in mind that we must adhere to all student visa requirements in respect to physical studies vs online studies. We also have to be cognizant of any students that are pursuing the dual degree option with the University of Roehampton as they will be able to pursue minimal coursework through the online modality. The following scenarios will provide clarification as to the campus that the student should be enrolled in within CampusVue: If a prospective American or European student is seeking a student visa to attend one of the European campuses and has not received a visa in time to start on campus, the student is permitted to begin his or her coursework through the online modality as long as the payment for the semester is made in full prior to the semester beginning. That student will be enrolled in online classes by the European Campus until the visa is issued. All university paperwork (transcripts/EAs, etc.) must be completed and turned in within the student’s first semester of studies. If the student does not meet that timeline, the student will be dropped according to university policy; however the student will have the option of being transferred to the online division prior to starting his or her second semester, if that semester is paid in full prior to the start of the coursework. This type of transfer can only occur at the end/beginning of the semester. Students are not permitted to transfer campuses within an active semester of studies If a student that is attending one of the physical campuses wants to continue to pursue his or her education via the online modality for the remainder of his or her studies that student will be transferred to the online division within CampusVue at the end of the semester of study, at the physical campus location. Again, students will not be transferred to another Schiller campus location within an active semester of study. If a student is enrolled for greater than one semester at any particular campus location or solely through the online modality, then the student needs to be an active student within CampusVue at that particular campus location or within the online division. If an online student would like to enhance his or her educational experience by attending one of the campus locations, the student will be permitted to do so. Students that pursue this option will become an active student at the campus location of his or her choice within CampusVue for that one semester of study. Again, students are only permitted to transfer at the end of a semester of study. If these students elect to continue their educational studies via online courses, the students will be transferred back to the online division within CampusVue after completing the one full semester of study at the respective physical Schiller campus location. If the student elects to stay at the physical campus, then he or she will remain a student at that campus. Page 1 of 2 Schiller International University- Standard Operating Procedure Manual Students at campus locations who require an occasional online course due to personal or academic reasons will be permitted to do so, but must understand that online classes may not be available to meet their needs. For example, no more than 25% of the University of Roehampton validated courses can be completed online. Page 2 of 2
