Showtime is 8 PM at the Great Auditorium, located at Pilgrim and Ocean Pathways in Ocean Grove, NJ. For more information, visit www.oceangrove.org. Highlights include: Mark Azzolina’s Shield of Freedom, Gustov Holst's First Suite in E Flat, Armed Forces Salute, Reinhold Gliere’s Russian Sailor's Dance, selections from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Sound of Music, and At A Dixieland Jazz Funeral featuring Linda Kreilick on Clarinet, Fred Wolf on Trumpet, Geoff Grice on Trombone, Dan Laing on Tuba and Jim Sanford on Drums. Guest Vocalist Altha Morton will perform Rodgers and Hart’s Blue Moon. The finale will include a rousing rendition of John Philip Sousa’s The Stars & Stripes Forever. The Atlantic Wind Ensemble (AWE) is directed by Dennis T. Eschbach, who was a music teacher and band director for the Bergenfield High School Band and the North Brunswick High School Band. He was also a Brass Instructor for the Muchachos, Bridgeman, and Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. Dennis holds a BS in Music Education from William Patterson University and has been a trombone player in the Atlantic Wind Ensemble for the past 15 years. Guest Conductors include Curt Morton and Associate Conductor David Attilio who is a. graduate of Kutztown University and a music teacher at Shore Regional High School in West Long Branch. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the ensemble, originally founded by Director Emeritus Harry D. Eichhorn in 1990.
