This report provides information on public high school graduates in Orange and Osceola counties. Previous‐Year High School Graduates In Fall 2008, 3,460 previous‐year high school graduates from public high schools in Orange and Osceola counties enrolled and attended Valencia. Most were first‐time‐in‐college and some had completed dual‐enrolled courses prior to high school graduation. These test scores place the student into either college‐prepara tory or college‐level courses in English, reading, or mathematics. The college‐preparatory course may be at the first or second level; generally the first level is for up to ninth grade work, while the second level is for tenth to twelfth grade work. Remediation rates ar e computed for previous‐year high school grads (PYHSGs) who are first‐time‐in‐college degree seekers, including students who were dual enrolled prior to their high school graduation. The number of students scoring above the cut scores for English, reading, and mathematics is shown below. The following table counts all previous‐year high school graduates (PYHSGs) enrolled in Fall 2008 regardless of whether the fall term was their first term of enrollment. Full‐time students are eligible for the President’s or Dean’s Honor Lists upon completion of 12 credit hours of college‐level work during a term.
