Head of Business Generation
Location: Bristol
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week
Salary: £50,500
In the last year Learning Partnership West (LPW) placed more than 160 Bristolbased young people into employment, education and training. Of these, 40%
were placed within two months of their first contact with us. 33 young people
are currently on roll at our Choices Schools in St Pauls and Stockwood.
Through our drop-in centres, LPW has also helped many children and young
people (CYP) who have come to us for advice on training, employment,
housing support and other personal issues. We are excited by the work that
we do and love to talk about it.
As the Head of Business Generation at LPW you will have a strong ability to
look to the future and consider all opportunities that might support and
impact the future sustainability of our company. You will have a proven track
record of managing a team effectively, ensuring all opportunities are sought
and realised within our plan, alongside bringing in money to cover team
salaries.
In this role, your primary areas of responsibility will be:











Accountable for securing new bids and generating income/revenue,
and building new relationships and partnerships with a view to their
generating income
Development and execution of all business generating strategic plans
Accountable for the delivery of all personal and team targets
Show exemplary personal leadership to the organisation and in the
approach to the role
Create a culture of business and lead generation throughout the
business, including driving referrals to Choices, new contracts, traffic
flow on our website and our social media presence
Accountable for the overall management of Marketing and all customer
relationship activities
Accountable for the successful and frequent delivery of all media, PR
and external communications
Accountable for the delivery and professionalism of all tenders and
proposals for new business
Be accountable for the coordination of data and research for current
and future business opportunities
Be accountable for competitor analysis and reporting on it monthly in
executive meetings and upon request
Accountable for all relevant departmental MI as requested by the
business




Accountable for the business development, marketing and
communications budget
Involve key internal stakeholders in the formulation of business
proposals, pitches and bids
Responsible for establishing and maintaining relevant networks and
relationships with similar organisations and with a view that these
relationships will secure new income or business
Undertake any other duties that might be required from time to time
The skills and experience that you will bring to this role are:







Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role with at least three
years’ experience of managing people effectively
Experience of translating a vision into a strategy and ensuring the
strategy is executed
Adaptable and able to adjust direction and strategy quickly in line with
business need and macro changes
Considerable experience of generating new business using a variety of
creative methods
A natural ability to lead, motivate and develop individuals and teams
Experience of delivering presentations for potential business
Able to undertake scenario and impact analysis to anticipate potential
changes to contracts, the marketplace, legislation and any other
change
