STALOS CRETE

Stalos,is a small village located 7 km west of Chania City. The village is in fact two separate villages:
Ano Stalos and Kato Stalos. The Ano Stalos is built on a small hill that overlooks the sea. The village
offers beautiful views and combines the atmosphere of a traditional Cretan village with a few very good
restaurants and bars. The large, picturesque rocks of the region add to the interesting landscape of
upper Stalos. Kato Stalos, is a seaside village, situated on a long, beautiful and well organized beach.
Around the area of Ano and Kato Stalos there are beautiful olive groves and vineyards in an area with
rich vegetation.
The sandy beach of Stalos
The sandy beach of Stalos is spotless and has been awarded with blue flag, as in all other exquisite
beaches. The beach is organized and friendly for families with children. On the beach of Stalos, the
visitor, except swimming, has a chance to test many summer sports such as beach volleyball and
cycling. Around the beach of Stalos, there's everything you can ask for the visitor: local taverns,
restaurants with international cuisine and quality food, beach bar, shops, mini market, etc.
The fun in Stalos
Stalos and the surrounding areas has a lot to offer its visitors. Located between Chania and the villages
of Agia Marina and Platanias, with the latter of the two being the most famous resorts of the region.
Either using regular bus schedules or a rental car, you can head east towards the city of Chania and to
taste the food at traditional taverns, to experience the old town of Chania and to impress you the most
picturesque Venetian Harbour of Chania.
On the other hand, and even closer in Stalos, in the West, are the taverns, cafes and nightlife of Agia
Marina and platanias. Both villages are situated at the distance of two kilometers. Easily comes out the
conclusion that the Stalos is a nice site, suitable for guests wishing on the one hand, relaxing stay, and
easy access to attractions and entertainment in the region. And a clear advantage in the region are the
wonderful local taverns of Ano and Kato Stalos, few of them well known for traditional Cretan dishes.
