Made sure our July Quarterly registration form was posted on the Area Website. Sent District 46 Report to the Area Newsletter. Received a call about a rogue website in Stanton Island. They apparently called the landlord of the Anacortes Group looking for information to post on their non-AA approved website. Floyd and WWA were notified. Also got a call from a member in Olympia wanting us to provide meetings for the Canoe Journey coming to La Conner July 25th. Unless we are asked by the tribe to cooperate with AA meetings, we are not to promote AA. I called the member back and gave her the Ravens Group phone number. Plan to: attend the July Quarterly here in Oak Harbor. Phone Dist 19 DCM to see if they want to continue to have South Whidbey meetings in their schedule, if so we will update them when I attend their District business meeting. Checked on the meeting we committed to at Juvenile Hall in Island County. It is alive and well; being co- ordinated by Gerry W. of the Fidalgo Group. I Will also offer a presentation to Department Heads and staff at Island Hospital. Will be talking to Roger for help in building a display for AA that can be used at conferences and meetings and rest homes or care facilities. Will put together packets for GSR’s to take to their home groups. Will be drafting a letter to send to those who book conferences to offer a presentation or display to the conference presenter. Thank you to the budget committee for their efforts. Passing the word about our meetings through CPC work. 3rd Legacy- We, Colette and I, had the opportunity to travel to Everett, 18th & Baker, with the assistance of a couple other members from District 46 and member from the group we were at, we presented them the 12 Traditions Skit. I have completed the worksheet the Ad Hoc committee chairperson sent out regarding the District Chair peoples budgets for the rest of the year. Two homegroup members attended Area Grapevine/Literature Quarterly in Burien on June 11. Items for further discussion or action are being identified from the group inventory session held in May. Photos of our meeting site have been sent to the District Archivist. Long term members are interested in receiving the Oral History kit. Fireside Group- Our Barbeque on June 12 was a great success and plenty of our recovery friends seemed to enjoy the event. Making this an annual gathering has been discussed and I personally hope that it becomes so. Thanks to all who participated. It is with a heavy heart that I announced my resignation as GSR of Fireside during our June 8 business meeting. Higher Power has seen fit to pave my road to the birthplace of A.A.and on June 17, I will be flying to Akron, Ohio with no definite plans for returning. I have already made contact and been chosen for service work in the area I will be going. It has been a great pleasure to be of service in Oak Harbor and District 46 as well as District 4. I have made many friends and learned much from all. You will be missed. Ried B. ( xxxx@yahoo.com ) was not present for our business meeting. However, he graciously "stepped up" when asked to perform the GSR service for Fireside until he or someone can be elected. It is my understanding that he has prior service experience in this position and surely he will be a huge asset to the district. As always Fireside is in need of firewood donations. Remember that the beach is a great place for fellowship this time of year and we are there 3 nights a week. Blue Box Group – Absent Coupeville Group I am a member of the planning committee for the Area 72 Quarterly sponsored by District 46 in July.
