If I was asked to become one of the 8 scientists I learned in class, I would be an
oceanographer. Oceanography mean the study of the ocean or sea. An oceanography
have a special different types of job. The four different types of job are physical
oceanography, biological oceanography, geological oceanography, and chemical
oceanography. Physical oceanographers study the waves and current of the ocean to
see
how they affect the marine life. The biological oceanographers study the life of animals
and
plants in the ocean. Next, geological oceanographers study and explore the ocean
floors
and the level of the sea which connect to the Earth’s history. Finally, the chemical
oceanographers study the natural and chemical made by human in the ocean.
Oceanographers work in office and laboratory in industry and government.
Oceanographers also work in the ocean to collect samples from the sea and observe
about the marine life. Usually, they work in teams. These scientist help with shipping,
fisheries, coastal construction, pollution, weather prediction, and, climate change. I
choose
to be an oceanographers because I want to explore how or where the ocean begin and
want to stop people from polluting the ocean. There are million of people who litter their
trash into the river, ocean, or the sea so I want to stop them by being an
oceanographer.
And the types that I choose to become is a biological oceanographers which study
about
the life living in the ocean. Next, I choose to become and oceanographers because I
want
to study about the marine life such as animals or plants. I want to learn how the marine
life
adapt or affect the ocean. By choosing this job as oceanographers may help something
about the Earth. First, I can stop people from fishing too much or the fish populations
will
decreased in a fast amount of times. Second, I stop people from building something or
making pollution near the ocean because the by making pollution near the ocean will
affect
the marine animals. For example, the oil spill from a construction affect the penguin who
live near it until their are frozen death from covering in black oil. Third, these scientists
can
predict when will they be storm, or huge waves coming near the area. Finally, they can
see
the climate change which also affect the ocean. Being an oceanographers not only help
the
ocean but also help the animals or plants living in the ocean, too.
