CANDIDATE GRAHAM JEFFERY OCCUPATION RETIRED NOMINATED BY DAVID MEAGOR PERSONAL STATEMENT I am 65 years old, born in Timsbury and have lived in Peasedown St John since 1989. I have two daughters and two grandchildren. My parents were members; my uncle worked most of his life in the Society, including managing the Timsbury store. I have worked in the retail and wholesale business, for most of my life, negotiating business with most of the national supermarkets and DIY chains, at head office, regional and branch level. I supplied local Pet Food to the Radstock Co-operative Society for many years, before my retirement. In that time I have watched the Society evolve and grow. Successfully defend its independent status, to the benefit of customers, staff and the Society. I feel using local suppliers, also enhances the Society’s offering. I will offer my full support to the Society and its members. 1 CANDIDATE ALBERT MOULDER OCCUPATION HEAD OF RETAIL OPERATIONS NOMINATED BY PAMELA YOUNG PERSONAL STATEMENT I have worked and been a member of Radstock Society approaching twenty nine years. We continue to encourage membership of the society and introduce further benefits for its members. We are seen to be an excellent employer who shows genuine interest in the care and welfare of its employees. Where possible we should support local products and services. We continue to be a growing, progressive and independent society. I have experience and knowledge to contribute if I am re-elected to your board. I am committed to the survival and success of an independent Radstock Co-operative Society. I therefore respectfully ask for your support. CANDIDATE JONATHAN RICH OCCUPATION MANAGER NOMINATED BY CRAIG DOUGHTY PERSONAL STATEMENT I have been working for the Radstock Co-operative Society for 24 years and have been an active member. During this period the Society has been through some interesting times. I have, and shall remain fully committed to the Co-operative Values and Principles, and to the survival and independence of the Radstock Co-operative Society. Whilst I recognise as a country we are going through difficult economic times, and that the co-operative movement faces challenges ahead; we have a strong Society in which we can all be proud of and have a great team of dedicated staff. We should be mindful that we need to continue to develop the business, whilst embracing new ideas and technologies, and actively seek new opportunities to enhance the Society for our future generation. Due to my extensive retail background, I believe that I have excellent knowledge, skills, experience and commitment which will assist me if elected to serve on your Board as a Director.I hope you will support me. 2 CANDIDATE DEREK ROBERTS OCCUPATION PRINTER NOMINATED BY HEIDI MATHISON PERSONAL STATEMENT Having served for the last three years on the Board I am now seeking your support for re-election. Many thanks for your support and commitment in the last three years. CANDIDATE LYNDA ROBERTSON OCCUPATION RESEARCH FIELDWORK MANAGER NOMINATED BY JOHN APPLETON PERSONAL STATEMENT My name is Lynda Robertson and I’ve lived here with my husband since 1993. I’ve two children and two grandchildren (so far!). I started my working life helping in the family Spar corner shop in Cornwall. I’ve always been a believer in shopping locally and think that ‘Radco’ gives is the best of both worlds; the intimacy of the local store with the range you would find in the larger nationals. So why do I want to be a Director? I would like to use the experience I’ve gained over the years to help further the aims and principles of the Radstock Co-operative Society; specifically securing the jobs of the current employees, providing more jobs for local people and supplying the living needs of the families within the areas around each of the branches.
