Ladies’ Game Day Guide
GAME DAY INFORMATION GAME STARTING TIMES
Games will begin promptly at 6:30 pm. (Playoff games could start at 6:45 with Conference Supervisors
approval). If either team is awaiting the arrival of their 8th player, a 15-minute grace period will be extended.
When that player arrives, that team has the OPTION to start the game with eight or they can await the arrival of
their 9th player within the 15-minute grace period. Once the grace period expires, the 8 must start. If within the
grace period, the 9th player arrives, the game MUST begin. If the grace period expires and the 8th player has
not arrived, a forfeit is called against the shorthanded team. CROSS CONFERENCE GAMES RECEIVE A 30
th
MINUTE GRACE PERIOD and MUST start when the Ninth (9 ) player arrives. All games will have 1 and
1count and starting May 1st you get an extra foul.
GAME SOFTBALLS and PLATE MATS
Two League sanctioned softballs are to be supplied for each game by the home team. Both teams are responsible for
bringing a plate mat to the field. The home team is required to put out the plate mat, if they don’t have a plate mat
than their plate mat then the visiting team is required to put out the plate mat. If the game is played with the visiting
teams plate mat they become the home team for that game. If both teams do not have a plate mat then both teams
receive a forfeit for the game. No game should be played without a plate mat behind the plate.
LEGAL GAME DAY CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations due to inclement weather must be made before 3:30 pm by the home team manager notifying
the USSSA assigner Floyd Bassett at 631-582-4383. Home team manager is also responsible for notifying
Away Team Manager and calling the SCL scoreline of a cancellation before 3:30 pm. ‘NO FIELD’ is not a
legal GAME DAY reason for a cancellation. The Home Team is responsible for securing an approved field
or they will get a FORFEIT LOSS. Cancellations not due to weather must be made 24hrs before game time.
ILLEGAL GAME CANCELLATIONS
If a game is cancelled for any reason other than inclement weather with less than 24 hours notice, the league
will be billed for the entire umpire fee of $50 for USSSA which in turn will be deducted from the home teams’
performance bond.
RESCHEDULING GAMES
From the day of cancellation, the home team manager and the visiting manager will have until midnight of that
day to schedule a make-up date and call it in to the scoreline. If a date is not called in by midnight, the
Conference Supervisor will schedule the make-up game for the first available Monday, Tuesday or Thursday
that both teams are not playing and when the home field is available.
MANAGERS ARE NOT TO CONTACT USSSA WITH SCHEDULE REVISIONS
SCORE REPORTING
All scores are to be called in by the winning manager to the SCL Scoreline at 207-8302 before 9:30 pm on
the night of the game. Failure to report a score on game night, or later than the 9:30 pm deadline will result in
performance bond forfeiture (for the first offense) and a 14-0 forfeit against the winning team (for the second
offense).
