You will also find collected works, such as Who’s who in Essex (1935). The Fanshawe family collection can be found in Bay 14. A separate leaflet for this is in preparation. The books are for reference only, so are always available on the open shelves. Before the re-opening of Valence House in summer 2010, each volume was carefully cleaned by Archives and Local Studies volunteers before being added to the sustainable custom-built oak shelves in the new library.
