She walks in Beauty
She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place.
And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Poetry is written in a way that draws people in. This poem is about the love
the writer shares for the woman it is written about. It is called “She walks in
Beauty” by the famous poet Lord Byron and is written in such a way that it
comes out beautifully expressing how the poet feels. The poet compares the
lady to the night by saying; “She walks in beauty, like the night. Of cloudless
climes and starry skies.” Through words we can clearly see just how much
the poet loves her. I like that it is an expression of love and wonderfully done
so. Poems to me are one of the best ways to show ones feelings to another. I
chose this poem because it is beautiful.
Hi there,
My name is Loren Johnson and I’m in year 10 at Woodvale Secondary
College. Some of the subjects I enjoy in school are; Japanese, Music, Drama,
Society and Environment, English, sometimes Science and sometimes
Maths. I’m not a fan of sports; however, I enjoy playing tennis and volleyball
very much. I can speak fluent Afrikaans as well as English as I come from
South Africa. I’m very interested in foreign cultures and it is one of my dreams
to one day travel the world. I hope that once I graduate I will be able to attend
WAAPA (West Australian Academy of Performing Arts) and study musical
theatre as I love to act and sing. I can play the guitar and piano as well as
some flute. I have a great group of friends and I love my school 
