I am an Engineering Major: Yes you can attain a Certificate in the Study and Practice of Leadership through the Leadership RAP and meet all of your engineering requirements! The Leadership RAP has a great history of supporting engineering students in the RAP, achieving the Certificate in the Study & Practice of Leadership and in Leadership positions such as Resident Advisors (RAs), Classroom Assistants (CAs) and Peer Mentors. Engineering students in the Leadership Residential Academic Program can get six of your Humanities and Social Science (H&SS) core credits for the College of Engineering fulfilled with our first year Leadership classes: LDSP 1000 (3 credits): Foundations of 21st Century Leadership – fulfills H&SS Credits LDSP 2410 (3 credits): The Dymanics of Privilege, Oppression and Empowerment in Leadership – being petitioned to fulfill H&SS Credits (A&S core, contemporary societies) LDSP 2910: Practicum In Leadership – one credit, counts for elective credit. LDSP 1571: Topics in Leadership – one credit, counts for elective credit Students in our Ethnic Living & Learning Community Leadership Studies Program (ELLC) take LDSP 1000, LDSP 2410 and two semesters of LDSP 2910. Students in our Chancellor’s Leadership Studies Program (CLSP) take LDSP 1000 and at least one additional LDSP course of your choice. Engineering Students working for the Leadership Certificate additionally take LDSP 3100 (3 credits): Multicultural Leadership which fulfills Upper Division H&SS credits.
