Possible Mission Partner Projects: Jerusalem Assistance Center Food Bank, Home Repair, Cheer Basket, School Starter Kit, Victims of War, Immigrant Welcome Gifts. For all participants who wish to stay in Jerusalem as short-term volunteers, arrangements will need to be made with Bridges for Peace. Dates: December 12-20, 2015 Estimated Trip Cost: $4,170 Itinerary: Day 1 – Travel Day Day 2 - Arrival at Ben Gurion in Tel Aviv. Upon arrival to Israel, each participant will go through customs and pick up their luggage. Our tour operator will be waiting and greeting each participant outside the baggage claim area. The tour company will then take the passengers to the hotel in Jerusalem to rest and wait for the other passengers. In the evening, guests will be grouped together and will participate in the first team meeting where everyone will receive the necessary materials for the trip as well as meet the ministry partner we will be working with in Israel, Bridges for Peace. Accommodation: Jerusalem Day 7 - Tour - Jerusalem Masada: Hike up the ramp to the top of Masada, the palace-fortress of Herod the Great, used by the Zealots in the Great Jewish Revolt against Rome. Descend by cable car down Masada. Dead Sea Spa: Float in the Dead Sea! Ein Gedi: Where David hid from Saul as recorded in 1 Samuel 23:29. Accommodation: Jerusalem Day 8 - Tour - Jerusalem Mt. of Olives: Where Jesus is coming back to Dominus Flavit: An amazing view of Jerusalem where the Lord wept over the city – Luke 19:41-44 Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus wept House of Caiaphas: Where part of Jesus’ trial occurred – Mt 26:57 Garden Tomb: A site believed to be the burial place of Jesus Accommodation: Jerusalem 2 Day 9 - Tour - Jerusalem Kotel Tunnels: The archeological site surrounding the ancient temples Via Dolorosa & Holy Sepulcher Jewish Quarter of the Old City Temple Mount The site of the two temples Western Wall: The holiest site in Judaism City of David: The original site of Jerusalem from the time of King David. Accommodation: Jerusalem Day 11 –Last Day/Depart in Evening Yad Vashem: Holocaust Memorial Museum in the morning Our last day will also include a time of team debriefing and prayer. Once the trip is completed, we’ll travel toward the airport. You will be assisted with the pre-boarding procedures. Depart Tel Aviv in the late evening.
