You’re On The Air Introduction: The 1920's was a time filled with changes in American society. Fashion, music, literature, sports, economics, and politics, were changing at a rapid pace. In this project we will explore those changes and use the “Internet of the 1920s” (the radio) to tell the story of this era to your peers. Your Objective: Your task will be to create a radio broadcast that your group can produce by reviewing your textbook and researching websites on the decade. Your broadcast will air on the last day of 1929 and will contain elements throughout the decade. The Process/Responsibilities: In this project you will be working together with a group of 4 members. Each member will be responsible for his or her own segment. Each member is required to create a script for his or her segment. o (This will be read for the recording as well as turned in.) Each group will be responsible for producing a five-ten minute radio broadcast that is filled with content that is historically accurate. In addition, the broadcast should be produced in manner consistent with radio shows of the 1920's (i.e.. music, sound effects, announcers, language/slang, call letters, tone of voice). The end product should be in mp3 format and shared with your teacher by the required due date. Group members will create a work log on Google Docs that is shared with your teacher. The work log will document daily attendance, participation, goals for the day, items completed and goals for homework/next day.
