Predicting the weather is a difficult task. Weather forecasting involves interpretation of a
great deal of data that is changing by the hour, even minute! As many people like to
point out, the weather forecast is not always correct; however, they are much more
accurate than forecasts of the past. With the use of modern computers and satellite
images, weather prediction has improved tremendously. But is it as easy as it looks?
In this project, you will try your hand at forecasting the weather using the knowledge
and information you have gained from this unit. You and your team will interpret and use
meteorological data to develop a 3-day forecast for the coming weekend!

Develop a 3-day weekend forecast
Create a professional broadcast
Relate the current weather to the climate

Producer: Directs the broadcast

Chief Meteorologist
1. Gathers weather data and analyzes
2. Makes predictions of the forecast
3. Delivers the forecast on screen
Script Writer
1. Creates script that meteorologist reads on screen
2. Matches script to forecast and tech visuals
3. Creates cue cards for meteorologist to use on screen
Technology and Design Crew
1. Create visual backdrops of maps for forecast
2. Matches visuals to forecast and script
3. Films the forecast
