Job Title:
Trusts and Corporate Fundraiser
Starting Salary:
£23,000 - £25,000 per annum + performance-related bonus
(inclusive of 6% pension contribution)
Responsible to:
Director of Development, HR and Finance
Location:
Freshwinds' centre in Selly Oak, Birmingham.
Hours:
37.5 per week.
Holiday
25 days per year (pro rata) plus bank holidays
Job Summary:
This is a new and exciting post with much potential for growth and development. The post holder will
be working in consultation with the Chief Executive and Directors to secure funding from a range of
existing and new sources including, corporate donors, charitable trusts and foundations for Freshwinds
projects and for unrestricted funds. The post holder will also assist in external and internal
communications towards the promotion and awareness of the charity.

Actions
1. Engage with potential corporate supporters to activate their
interest and support and achieve introductions to others within
their corporate peer network.
2. Research corporates and their CSR and marketing policies and
wherever the opportunity appears, engage them with
Freshwinds by a variety of means and create mutually
beneficial long-term relationships.

3. Design appropriate solicitation, cultivation and stewardship
materials for prospects
4. Research "Charity of the Year" opportunities, identify key
responsible individuals and develop relationships.
5. Produce high-quality applications to corporates and ensure that
Freshwinds has the capacity to fulfill the requirements of
funders.
6. To promote Give As You Earn opportunities with corporate
supporters

7. To undertake research into identifying trust funding
opportunities and make recommendations for fundraising
priorities.
8. To maintain a portfolio of relationships with funders and liaise
with appropriate local networks and funders.
9. To produce high quality applications to trust funders to support
existing and new work and to follow these up appropriately.
10. Develop proposals for projects that could attract new funding.
General
11. To maintain a comprehensive fundraising database and
effectively manage supporter relationships including writing
acknowledgement and "thank you" letters for donors.
12. To assist in the development of relationships with major donors
and high net-worth individuals.
13. To remain up to date with the development of the programmes
and initiatives of Freshwinds in order to promote the work of
the charity to funders
14. To assist in the further development of promotional materials
15. To keep up to date with local and national developments with
regards to funding.

17. To assist the Directors in leading our team of volunteer
fundraisers.
18. To assist on ensuring that the requirements of FRSB
membership are fulfilled.
19. To undertake other responsibilities as may be reasonably
required from time to time.
Person Specification
Skills & Experience
Demonstrate relevant experience of Corporate fundraising for a minimum
period of 3 years
Hold a relevant and current membership with Institute of Fundraising
Have relevant experience of working within a medium size charity with
diverse funding needs,
Demonstrate a good knowledge of a sourcing a wide range of funding
sources, e.g. charitable trusts, corporate, individual donors, and legacies.
Demonstrate ability in writing promotional material relevant to fundraising.

Demonstrate the importance of effective communication, presentation and
report writing skills.
Demonstrate understanding of the management of risk and governance of
Fundraising.
Demonstrate ability to research in order to source and access local
fundraising opportunities.

Ability to communicate easily and appropriately with people at all levels both

Demonstrate ability to prepare detailed funding applications to an excellent

communication abilities.
Demonstrate knowledge of working within equality, diversity, vulnerability,
disability and cultural sensitivity.
Car owner and driver with clean license or independent means of travelling
within the Birmingham and west midlands area.

This job description will be agreed between the post holder and the manager to whom he/she is
accountable. It may be reviewed in light of experience, changes and developments.
