ATS Coupe: superior driving dynamics meet elegant design
New Escalade boasts more efficient 6.2L V8 engine, radically new exterior
and crafted interior
Elmiraj Concept offers futuristic vision of performance and luxury
New Cadillac emblem sharpens focus on crest and reflects brand evolution
GENEVA – The Cadillac ATS Coupe and the new Escalade SUV made their European
debut at the Geneva Motor Show today. Cadillac is also showcasing the Elmiraj concept
for the first time in Switzerland as well as the production version of the ELR premium
coupe featuring Extended Range Electric Vehicle technology.
“The Cadillac ATS Coupe and the new Escalade offer a myriad of new features, ranging
from enhanced engines to improved safety and infotainment solutions to purposeful,
elegant design,” said Tom Anliker, Managing Director, Cadillac Europe. “We are
confident that both models will leave a distinctive mark in the respective segments.”
ATS Coupe: designed for supreme driving pleasure
The ATS Coupe rides on the same 2,775 mm wheelbase, but features wider front and
rear tracks than the sedan, standard 18-inch wheels and its own bodywork. The roof,
doors, rear fenders and trunk lid are unique to the Coupe, along with a specific front
fascia and front fenders. It is also the first production model to wear Cadillac’s revised
crest.
Cadillac’s most compact premium Coupe ever will go on sale in Europe as of fall 2014,
offering drivers the choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the power from a
2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
Its strong lightweight structure and a power-to-weight ratio at the top of its segment
enable the ATS Coupe to provide exhilarating performance with efficiency. Power is
supplied by a 276 horsepower (203 kW) 2.0L Turbo engine that has been upgraded
from the current ATS sport sedan to deliver nearly 14 percent more torque.
Key elements that contribute to the ATS Coupe’s responsive ride characteristics include
a nearly perfect 50/50 weight balance, a low center of gravity, refined suspensions, and
Cadillac’s Magnetic Ride Control real-time damping system.
Inside, the sedan’s driver-focused cabin carries over to the Coupe, featuring
handcrafted cut-and-sewn upholstered interior combinations, decorative stitching and
authentic materials, including leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and wood, intended to
enhance the emotional connection to the driving experience.
The ATS Coupe is equipped with the CUE infotainment system. CUE is built around an
eight-inch LCD multi-touch sensitive screen and designed to enhance the driving
experience and complement customers’ increasingly connected lifestyles.
A Bose® premium audio system with Active Noise Cancelation technology is standard
on all versions and includes electronic sound enhancement on models equipped with
the available premium surround sound audio system.
The ATS Coupe provides the same safety technologies that earned the sedan the
highest available 5-star overall crash safety rating in the New Car Assessment Program
administered by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
New Escalade sports radically new design
The fourth-generation Escalade is a bold, entirely new design yet instantly recognizable.
It establishes new benchmarks for hand-tailored craftsmanship and technology. The
new Escalade will go on sale in Europe towards the end of 2014 and, for the first time in
Europe, be available as an extended-length (ELV) edition.
Offered exclusively in Europe with a 4WD drivetrain, Cadillac’s flagship SUV features a
new 6.2L V-8 engine that is more powerful and more efficient compared to its
predecessor. It comes with Magnetic Ride Control, the world’s fastest reacting
suspension system as standard.
The exterior features crisp and sophisticated surfaces, accented by dramatic lightemitting diode (LED) lighting. The comprehensively redesigned interior offers more
comfortable seats, leather that is hand cut, sewn and wrapped, with wood trim options.
CUE, Cadillac’s advanced system for connectivity and control, is standard. Thanks to a
stronger new body structure and Bose® Active Noise Cancellation, the interior is also
dramatically quiet.
Cadillac CTS is longer, sleeker and lighter
The new Cadillac CTS sedan is being launched in Europe this spring. It has a
commanding road presence and offers premium convenience, thanks to an all-new
design that is longer, lower and leaner than its predecessor.
Based on the high-performing rear-drive architecture of the award-winning ATS sport
sedan, it will enable Cadillac to move right into the heart of the prestigious class of
upper midsize premium sedans. The CTS sedan weighs 128 kg less than the outgoing
model and has a near perfect 50/50 weight balance.
The CTS’ turbocharged 2.0L gasoline engine develops 276 hp at 5,500 rpm and 400
Nm of torque between 3,000 and 4,500 rpm. For the first time on the CTS, Magnetic
Ride Control, Cadillac’s ultra-precise real-time damping system, is a standard feature on
all models.
A host of advanced yet intuitive driver controls, the Cadillac CUE infotainment system
and an array of sophisticated safety features combine a high level of convenience with
maximum occupant protection.
Elmiraj Concept offers glimpse into the future
The Elmiraj Concept provides an insight into how Cadillac envisions performance and
luxury for the next generation of discerning drivers. It advances Cadillac’s philosophy of
dramatic design and performance, and strengthens the company’s commitment to
lightweight, agile cars.
At 521 cm in overall length, the four-seater commands presence and poise. The Elmiraj
and the new ATS coupe both carry the new edition of the Cadillac emblem, which
sharpens the focus on the crest and reflects the evolution of Cadillac’s Art and Science
philosophy. The Elmiraj is powered by a 4.5-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine delivering
an estimated 500 hp.
The car’s instrumentation features an analog tachometer and speedometer that are
transparent. A wide screen high resolution display, which projects driver information and
images from a front-mounted camera, sits directly behind the analog gauges.
Cadillac ELR adds new dimension of advanced technology
The provocative and progressive ELR premium coupe is the first car with Extended
Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) technology by a full-line premium automotive brand.
It is adding a new dimension of advanced technology to Cadillac and the luxury
marketplace. With its electric propulsion system made up of a lithium ion battery and a
four-cylinder gasoline-powered generator, most daily driving can be done on electric
power alone. At the same time, the range-extending generator ensures a combined total
driving range of more than 480 km on a full change and tank.
The interior introduces a new design theme that will define future Cadillac models,
emphasizing modern elegance, technology and precisely crafted details.
The ELR’s confident and responsive EREV driving technology is enhanced with
exclusive Regeneration on Demand and selectable drive modes that add to the
pleasurable driving experience and make the most of efficiency.
SRX premium crossover completes Cadillac range
Also on display is the SRX, which cuts a distinctive figure in the premium crossover
segment and rounds off Cadillac’s line-up of technologically advanced vehicles. The
exterior is defined by a wide stance, short bodywork overhangs and iconic vertical light
units. The 3.6L V6 powertrain is equally impressive and capable of churning out 318 hp
(234 kW) and 360 Nm at 2,400 rpm. Zero to 100 acceleration is just 8.1 seconds for the
all-wheel drive SRX. Further highlights include CUE, active noise cancellation and an
array of sophisticated safety systems.
Cadillac has been a leading luxury auto brand since 1902. In recent years, Cadillac has
engineered a historic renaissance led by artful engineering and advanced technology.
Its European line-up includes the award-winning ATS sport sedan, the CTS upper midsize sedan, the SRX crossover and the Escalade, a full-size SUV. In 2014, Cadillac will
be introducing the new CTS, the ATS Coupe, the ELR - the world's first luxury coupe
with extended range technology - as well as the next generation Escalade. More
