The quarterly grade will be averaged as follows: 25% Quizzes and tests 15% Math portfolio 15% Math Homework 10% Math Notebook 10% Midterm or Final 25% Class participation and behavior Make-up for tests, other work or extra help can be made any day before school or after school Tuesday through Thursday. Class Routines Math class begins with a “Problem of the Day.” Once it is solved and explained, we complete a Math Speed Drill to review basic math facts quickly. While the students are completing the speed drill, the math homework is reviewed and logged in the grade book. This is followed by the lesson for the day, which involves note taking in Math Notebooks. We then move on to independent practice, review the practice exercise and assign homework. If homework is not completed, the student should provide an explanation. Three missed homework assignments result in a call to parents. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to a great year of learning! Please sign below after you have read these expectations. Return only this page.
