Dear Enfield Families,
Welcome back to school! I hope your family is enjoying the summer and your children are
looking forward to the start of an amazing school year at Enfield Elementary. I look forward
to learning and being together again. Whether you are new or returning to Enfield, I’m
always inspired by our children and grow from your ideas and interests around working
together this year.
We’ve been busy with preparations this summer. Our teachers have been participating in
professional development around teaching and learning, curriculum, and using technology
as an innovative tool for learning. We are excited to share our new learning with you!
The building looks fantastic. Our floors are newly waxed and the classrooms immaculately
cleaned. Our learning spaces sparkle and our teachers have been “scheming” with
classroom materials to create the “just right” environments for thinking and making learning
discoveries with friends.
Do carefully look over the information included in the welcome back packet and be sure we
have your updated contact and release information the first day of school. This will help
ensure our communication lines remain open and informed as we work to exchange school
and child related information. During the first week of school we will work hard to
communicate with you and ensure we support your children in learning the drop-off, pick
up, after school, and daily routines of school.

Finally - please join us for Enfield Elementary Open House on September 8th from 1:002:00pm. Parents and children are invited to informally visit classrooms, greet their teachers,
and check out all our learning spaces. We find that this connection can help ease the
“back to school butterflies” students, teachers, parents (and even the principal!) sometimes
experience on the first day.

Class Assignments:
Teams of Enfield teachers give careful thought to creating productive learning environments
for every child. Our collaborative teaching model and master schedule encourage teachers
to be innovative and regularly regroup children to address their specific learning strengths
and needs. This means your child will have multiple opportunities to learn with more than
one teacher and with all their grade level peers over the course of the year. Please note: If
students are newly entering Enfield, placements are tentative until screening has occurred.

Start-Up Information
