Course Description
This is an undergraduate course which has a theoretical and clinical components (with
four credit hours), the theoretical component is in the form of about 14-16 lectures
that cover basic topics in oral surgery and the medical problems that might interfere
with the patient`s treatment and management. The clinical component is in the form
of clinical training (one 3-hour session every other week).
The course is designed to provide guidance to begin delivery of simple oral surgical
treatment such as simple teeth extractions and discussion of medical issues. Teaching
will be conducted in English.

40% : Written exam 30% (20% theory + 10% clinical
scenarios in 2 separate exams )
10% log book
Final Exam
60%: Theory and Practical at the end of the continuous
course dent 482.
Clinical Assignments
Log book to be included in the clinical examination part
and the requirement as shown in the additional notes
section.
Each student is expected to manage five patients over the
whole fourth year .

and clinics

Teaching & Learning Methods
Duration: around 16 weeks (depending on national holidays and university calendar).
Lectures: 1 hour per week

Attendance: Students must attend 100% of all scheduled classes and labs. Class
participation is required. Should an
absence be necessary, student should contact the course instructor by telephone
immediately. Work missed can
ONLY make up with an excused absence.
- Each unexcused absence will result in a grade penalty of 1% point deducted from
the final total grade
- No make-up exams or quizzes will be given for unexcused absences
- Late arrivals to class are unexcused absences
- All course make-ups, test, and so forth, must be completed within 14 days from the
date of the excused absence.
