Poulton Bowling
Club
The club Pavillion, which is rented from Wyre
Borough Council is in need of interior decoration
which is the responsibility of the members. We also
want to board in the sides of the overhang of the
Pavillion to stop the wind blowing through during
matches.
The Wooden benches in and around the green are
broken and worn we would like to replace these with
something more substantial.
If we are successful in obtaining the grant we would
consider carpeting the inside of the Pavillion which is
at the moment badly stained wood boards.
This funding will be used in an identified West
Lancashire school, where there are young people
identified as underperforming or at risk of becoming
NEET. In the first part of the project
(January/February), up to 75 young people in Year 9
will be given the opportunity to take part in an
‘Ideation’ masterclass where, in teams they will
develop a business idea over the course of a day
and present back to the group, supported by
business volunteers.
In stage 2 of the project ‘Build a Business’ (March –
July) the young people will be split into teams where
they will set up and run their own company, working
on the ideas they have initially generated from stage
1 - the masterclass. Over 6 sessions they will gain
employability and entrepreneurial skills such as team
work, presentation skills, communication, as well as
