Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained,
but happy is he who keeps the law.”
 Four keys to great vision:
First, you must want it--that is passion.
Second, you must see it--that is vision.
Third, you must know it--that is mission.
Fourth, you must do it--that is sacrifice.
A. Vision is . . .
(1) Future-driven
(2) Change-oriented
(3) Inspiring
(4) Empowering
I. Vision Comes From Inspiration
1. Vision is a clear mental image of a preferable future
imparted by God and is based upon an accurate understanding
of God, self, and circumstances.” (George Barna)
A. Vision is a God-given plan that He desires, to become a
man-made reality. (Dr. Phil)
Numbers 13:2 "Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am
giving to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you
shall send a man, every one a leader among them."
1. God has a vision for every individual life.
2. We seek His face, find that vision, and trust Him to
accomplish that vision.
II. Vision Calls For Investigation
13:2 "Send men to spy out the land which I am giving to the
Israelites."
A.
These spies were not sent out to bring back an
opinion, they were sent out to bring back a strategy.
B.
They were not to go out and find fault, they were to go
out and find facts.
13:27, "The land flows with milk and honey! Here is the
fruit."
C. We are to be informed by the facts, but we are to be guided
by faith.
D. Facts do not always fit your faith, but your faith can always
make the facts fit.
III. Vision Causes Irritation
13:33 "There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from
the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so
we were in their sight."
A. When you focus on your fears instead of your faith, and you
focus on your foes instead of your Father, you will develop a
grasshopper mentality.
IV. Vision Creates Imagination
13:30, "Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are
well able to overcome it."
14:8 "If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this
land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey."
A. Vision is the Ability to See God's presence, Perceive God's
power, Focus on God's plan, in spite of the obstacles.
