MD-3
Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid MD-3 is a passenger car and light truck automatic
transmission fluid for most pre-2006 automatic transmissions built by General Motors, Ford
Motor Company and other makes requiring a high-performance, multi-purpose, power

DEXRON® -VI is designed specifically for use in all General Motors HydraMatic
transmissions produced for model year 2006 and beyond. It is the latest generation

Multi-Vehicle
Chevron Multi-Vehicle ATF (MERCON® V) is an advanced technology high performance,
multipurpose power transmission fluid. Chevron Multi-Vehicle ATF is fully approved and
licensed under the MERCON® V and Allison C-4 specifications. In addition, it is suitable for

Type F
Type F is specifically designed for most pre-1977 Ford vehicles and some makes between
1977 and 1981. Effective March 1997, Ford discontinued administration of approvals for
Type F fluids. However, there are still many vehicles on the road that use Type F. Type F and
MERCON fluids are not interchangeable.
Chevron ATF Type F is a high friction ATF for older Fords that specifically call for a Type F

Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid MD-3
Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid MD-3 is a passenger car and light truck automatic

General Motors transmissions manufactured in 2006 and beyond generally require a
DEXRON®-VI automatic transmission fluid.
Ford transmissions manufactured after 1996 may require a MERCON® V automatic
transmission fluid.
Ford transmissions manufactured before 1977 and some pre-1982 transmissions require a
Type F fluid such as Chevron ATF Type F.
Chrysler transmissions manufactured after 1996 require ATF+4® automatic transmission
fluid.

Chevron ATF+4 Automatic Transmission Fluid is designed for use in all Chrysler Group
automatic transmissions and automatic transaxles where a Mopar ATF PLUS®, ATF+2®,
ATF+3® or ATF+4® fluid is specified. The Chrysler Group includes Chrysler, Dodge,
Plymouth, Jeep and Eagle vehicles.
It is not recommended for use in transmissions specifying either DEXRON® or MERCON®
type fluids.

Corporation, license number 406300335.
Do not use in high pressure systems in the vicinity of flames, sparks and hot surfaces. Use

Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid
Dexron®-VI
Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid DEXRON®-VI is formulated with high purity
synthetic base stocks. It is designed to maintain its viscosity through excellent oxidation
stability and use of long lasting viscosity modifiers. Internal General Motors tests have shown
more than twice the durability and stability in friction tests compared to standard DEXRONIII fluids. This will ensure consistent and smooth shift performance, even under extreme
driving conditions. Extensive validation testing by General Motors has shown DEXRON-VI
to be significantly better than previous DEXRON fluids in nearly every performance area.

Chevron Multi-Vehicle ATF
Chevron Multi-Vehicle ATF is an advanced technology, high performance, multipurpose

It is formulated with premium, severely hydroprocessed base stocks and carefully crafted
additives that provide oxidation and thermal stability, friction control, load-carrying ability,
corrosion and wear protection. It helps protect against the formation of sludge, varnish, other
harmful deposits, and foam.
Compared to conventional ATFs, Chevron Multi-Vehicle ATF has exceptional low
temperature flow properties and enhanced protection against viscosity breakdown at high
temperatures. It also has superior oxidation and thermal stability, resulting in longer service

Chevron Multi-Vehicle ATF has been tested for performance in Japanese transmissions under
the JASO 1A ATF standard. The product will deliver the shifting performance and superior
anti-shudder durability which is desired by Japanese and Korean automakers.

your vehicle.
Chevron Multi-Vehicle ATF is not suitable for a limited number of special applications, such
as:


Ford transmissions manufactured before 1977 and some pre-1982 transmissions require a
Type F fluid such as Chevron ATF Type F (no friction modifier)
Vehicles with continuously variable transmissions (CVTs) require special fluids.
Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid Type F
Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid Type F is a high performance lubricating fluid for
pre-1977 (and some 1977 to 1981) automatic transmissions built by Ford Motor Company
and other makes requiring a high friction Type F fluid.
It is manufactured using selected highly refined base oils and additives that provide oxidation
and thermal stability, friction control, cleanliness, load-carrying ability, corrosion and wear
protection, and prevent the formation of foam.
Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid Type F is red in color for identification and leakage
control.
Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid Type F protects against deposits, corrosion and wear,
provides proper shifting action, resists oxidation and viscosity increase, and ensures long
transmission life.

the vehicle owners manual).
This fluid is not to be used in Ford transmissions that require a fluid meeting Ford M2C138CJ. Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid DEXRON®-III/MERCON® is the recommended
fluid in this case.
Chevron Automatic Transmission Fluid Type F meets the requirements of former Ford
specification M2C33-F.
