Re: Name: ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

DoB: …………………………………… ……… Hospital No: ……………………………………………..

Trial number: ……………………………… Date Registered: …………………………………..

A randomised controlled trial of bariatric surgery versus a community weight loss programme for the sustained treatment of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension: the

IIH:WT Trial (MRI Test Run)

Your patient, named above, has agreed to take part in an MRI test run. This test run is a scan to validate the MRI sequences used in the IIH:WT trial, a randomised controlled trial comparing two methods of weight loss in the treatment of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension

(IIH).

Your patient will not receive any trial treatment.

The MRI Test Run sub-study participants will each undergo 2 MRI scans, at least 2 weeks apart. The results will then be used to help the research team standardise the MRI tests for all participants in the trial.

This MRI Test Run is not a diagnostic procedure, but if any abnormalities are found which require follow up participants will be contacted by phone and if necessary invited to return to discuss the findings. The researcher will use their clinical judgement to decide if they need to be referred to an appropriate service.
