With SISTEM51, Swatch has opened up an exciting new world. The first mechanical
movement ever to be made not by hand, but on a fully-automated assembly line, SISTEM51
was presented to an astonished watch industry in April of this year. Now, the first four models
are here, and the voyage of discovery can begin!
There is much to explore in this intriguing new world. Unprecedented technological
innovation (17 pending patents) enabled the development, in less than two years, of a selfwinding mechanical movement with only 51 parts in five modules. SISTEM51 is 100 percent
Swiss made and features an exceptional 90 hour power reserve. Hermetically sealed within its
case, the 3 Hz movement delivers precise, long-lasting, maintenance-free performance.
SISTEM51 opens up a universe of beauty, too. The dial side reveals six of the movement's 19
rubies, and from the back one gazes through a transparent oscillating weight into the heart of
this fascinating microcosm. Design is a key part of the Swatch DNA, and SISTEM51 extends
its reach into the innovative depths of the movement itself. The visible surfaces of the
movement's five modules present a new canvas, a new field of creative expression for graphic
designers and contemporary artists.
SISTEM51 POP UP STORE IN HONG KONG
SISTEM51 was announced at BASELWORLD 2013 and was first available in Switzerland, the
birthplace of the brand, on Dec 15, 2013. The SISTEM51 collection is making its world debut in
pop up stores, with Hong Kong, China and Japan being the first landing points in Asia. The
SISTEM51 POP UP STORE will arrive at Swatch’s Central flagship on May 22 for you to witness
the real innovation in the watch industry!
The first four models set out to discover SISTEM51's expressive potential:
SISTEM WHITE (SUTW400) explores the new world in a disarmingly simple fashion. Six red
points are positioned on the white dial directly above 6 of the movement's 19 rubies,

indicating the wondrous mechanical universe beneath. These 6 ruby-red points are
surrounded by large coloured dots, each corresponding to one of the points where the
movement's five modules are welded together. And yet, as beautiful as it is, the dial is only
half the story—Turn SISTEM WHITE over and the new world explodes. The transparent crystal
oscillating weight reveals brightly coloured modules and the fascinating motion of the gear
trains and balance spring. The design is pure Pop, connecting SISTEM51 to the legendary
story of Swatch and Art.

SISTEM BLACK (SUTB400) is a beautiful black and white map of the stars. It shows a universe
revolving around a single, central point of light, a mirror of our solar system. Six red points
representing 6 of the movement's 19 rubies glow in the darkness of infinite space, framed by a
concentric array of white lights—a harmonious star-map of time. And there's more—the map
has a flip-side: Turn SISTEM BLACK over, and the universe is suddenly a work of optical art, a
swirling black and white vortex that captures and captivates the eye. The transparent crystal
oscillating weight revolves and reveals the wonder of a mechanical microcosm that turns on a
single, central screw.

SISTEM RED (SUTR400) begins and ends with the colour of rubies, the jewels at the heart of
the movement within. The dial is a black night filled with stars and the delicate white traces of
an interstellar journey exploring the universe of hidden connections in the heart of the
movement. The black bezel's white hour markers encircle a cosmos set snugly within a rubyred, transparent plastic case. Like the moon, this heavenly body has a hidden side: Turn
SISTEM RED over to find a black and red star-burst, rays of light shooting into space from a
single point at the centre.

SISTEM BLUE (SUTS401) is the colour of cosmic nights, a message from the hot blue stars of
the Pleiades to our beautiful blue planet. Clustered around the centre of the deep black dial
are 6 red points indicating 6 of the movement's 19 rubies, glowing red signals from the
movement within. Narrow white lines connect a scattering of star-white dots, tracing a path
for us to follow, a map to guide our cosmic journey. Twelve white dots mark the hours on the
black bezel set within a luminous, translucent blue case. And on the reverse we discover an
amazing sight—a deep blue and black star-burst, a radiant pattern expanding from the central
screw to the oscillating weight, the motor of the extraordinary mechanical movement that is
SISTEM51.
