ISGB Gathering Scholarship
Program and Application
Each year ISGB offers a number of scholarships to qualifying members enabling them to attend the
Gathering. A special international scholarship also exists to lend encouragement and financial assistance
for our members outside North America to experience the conference. The ISGB Gathering Scholarship
Committee is chaired by Susan Sheehan and includes, Angie Ramey, Kendra Bruno, Leah Fairbanks, Nina
“Sam” Hibler, Ali VandeGrift, and Jeri Warhaftig. All decisions made by the Committee are considered final.
This Scholarship Award Will Include
• Full conference registration fee
• Hotel accommodation for one night
• $100 stipend for North America or $500 stipend for International to assist with airfare or driving expenses
• All stipends will be presented at the Gathering
A signed scholarship packet with the materials stated below can be emailed to admin@isgb.org or mailed

To Apply for an ISGB Gathering Scholarship
• Applicants must be a current ISGB member.
• Applicants are required to submit an Artist Statement, which should also include your vision and
inspiration in addition to a one-page essay explaining how you expect to benefit from attending the
Gathering and what you hope to return to the beadmaking community from your experience at the
Gathering.
• Three (3) images representing the scope of your work must be submitted via email to admin@isgb.org.
Please label each image in numerical order with your name. For example, “01_Smith.jpg,” etc. Images
must be in JPG format, and should be a maximum size of 1MB.
• Three letters of recommendation must accompany the application.
Required of the Recipient
• The recipient is required to donate one bead to the Silent Auction.
• The recipient is required to attend the entire Gathering (Thursday AM to Sunday PM).
• The recipient is required to volunteer at least eight (8) hours.
• The recipient is required to attend the General Membership Meeting on Thursday.
• The recipient is required to write and submit a short article (500 words maximum) on his/her Gathering
experience for ISGB use.

artists awarded this scholarship will be notified by February 11, 2015, and will be sent a special
registration link prior to the opening of member registration.
Applicants who are not awarded this scholarship will be notified by February 11, 2015.
In the event that the recipient does not fulfill his/her obligation, the ISGB will revoke the scholarship
award and stipend.
This award is non-transferable in part or whole.
This award cannot be postponed and awarded at a future conference in part or whole.
If the recipient cannot meet the obligations of the scholarship, the scholarship will not be reassigned to
another artist.
The scholarship will be awarded only once to an artist.
