Jon and Sarah’s house info: Very shallow soil over bedrock, (some of it falls under geographic feature called alvar <10 cm) 5-30 cm over bedrock. Limestone bedrock (ordoviscian limestone), soil group is called a Dummer shallow till. The glaciation event would be a till plane, meaning that the glacier dumped material – stone is not water worked, just slightly eroded. Loose soil; silt loam. Moisture regime would be fresh, well-drained. Test sample is slightly down slope from road, but there is a ditch. Trees were all planted between 1997-2001. Plantation is sparser near to the highway, presumably due to salt damage. Jonathon Reed jonathonreed@xplornet.com (705) 454-3167
