PENSACOLA, Fla. (July 8, 2013) – Baptist Health Care is proud to announce the opening of the
new Baptist Vein Center, led by board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon James Lonquist, M.D., of
Cardiology Consultants.
“Nearly 80 million adults suffer from the discomfort and unsightliness of varicose veins, spider
veins or other vein problems, but many may not realize that those vein concerns can be easily
treated with minimally invasive and non-surgical procedures at our new vein center,” explains
Dr. Lonquist.
An experienced cardiothoracic surgeon and long-time Gulf Coast resident, Dr. Lonquist has
specialized interest and skill involving the circulatory system and treatment of venous
disorders.
“As a surgeon, I know the importance of healthy veins and how they can be life-saving for those
suffering with heart disease. Now, as I open this vein center with Baptist, I am proud to offer
medical and cosmetic vein procedures that will help ensure healthier veins and healthier lives
for my patients,” says Dr. Lonquist.
At the Baptist Vein Center in Gulf Breeze, Fla., Dr. Lonquist offers a range of cosmetic and
medical treatments to treat vein disease, including surgical and non-surgical options. Services
include:
    Sclerotherapy
    Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT)
    Spider vein treatment
    Varicose vein treatment
    Venous insufficiency consultations
    Ultrasound
    Compression stockings
Venous disease is quite common in the United States and includes such conditions as varicose
veins and non-healing ulcers. Left untreated, these conditions can lead to an increased risk of
discomfort, blood clots and chronic skin changes.
New patients are being welcomed at 1118 Suite 102 on Gulf Breeze Hospital’s campus. To learn
