District 13 Fall Conference Workshops and Round Tables
6:00-6:45 pm – Superintendents’ Panel
Superintendents from school districts within District 13 will have a panel discussion with
conference members. Conference members will have the opportunity to ask the
superintendents questions regarding changes in the new state standards, teacher evaluations,
graduation tests, third grade reading guarantee and more.
7:00-7:45pm – Workshop Session I
Nominating Committees – Be prepared to elect and instruct your nominating committee to
choose the best officers to lead your unit.
Presidents Staying on Track- Sheila Ragland, OPTA President, will make sure you are on the
right path to a successful year. (Gold Key 1st Step and 2nd Step Leadership)
Reflections- Walk through a step-by-step process, gather tools and resources, and learn best
practices for encouraging creativity in your school. Get ideas from other units and districts in
this roundtables discussion and exchange of ideas and practices.
Tips, Tools and Techniques for Monitoring Your Child’s Electronic Devices - This workshop is
presented by Marcie Mason and Eric Shaffer, Bath Police Department and Revere Schools
Resource Officer. This innovative program will help parents better monitor their children’s
electronic devices. They will show attendees applications they can use to monitor wireless
activities and set limits and restrictions on these devices.
8:00-8:45pm – Session II Roundtables
Marketing Your PTA – Having concerns regarding how to communicate with your members and
the community? Want people to know what your PTA is doing and how to join? Attend this
roundtable and join the discussion on what other PTAs are doing to market their PTAs using
social media.
Treasurer Q & A – Have questions about your role and responsibilities as your PTA unit
treasurer? Attend this roundtable to get your questions answered and hear how others are
managing their unit’s finances.
Awards – There are many opportunities within PTA for promoting advocacy, family school
partnerships, scholarship, and rewarding the hard work and dedication of your members.
Attend this roundtable discussion and learn how other units are promoting opportunities to
reward members, students, community leaders and educators.
Meet your District Advisors - Have questions about your unit? Your PTA position? How to get
more involved? Having a problem in your unit or District? Learn what others are doing in their
PTA Districts. Join our roundtable discussion with some of this year’s Ohio PTA District Advisors.

Attendees should park in the parking lot off of Revere Road (between the building and
stadium). Enter the building through the doors by the brick wall that protrudes from the
building that has an open circle in it. Signs will direct you to the building entrance.
