Dr Amit Mistry BDS 2001 MFDS RCS(Eng) 2003 Offering a complete range of implant dentistry from single tooth implant replacement to more advanced replacement of all teeth, Dr Mistry can also provide surgical only placements, so that the referring dentist can restore the implants themselves or alternatively complete the case from the start so the patient will leave with their new implant retained teeth. Dr Mistry also provides surgical procedures to assist in the placing of implants such as sinus lifts and bone grafts. Sedation can be provided to make the surgical stages of the treatment more comfortable. Having taught at highly recognised institutions such as Manchester University, Dr Mistry can also train dentists so that restoring simple implant cases can be done at the dentists own surgery efficiently and economically. Having qualified from the University of Manchester in 2001, Dr Mistry has undergone further training from the outset to improve the quality of his dentistry. Having done General Professional Training in the northwest deanery in 2002 to improve his appreciation of all the specialist areas of dentistry at Manchester Dental Hospital and Blackburn Royal Infirmary, attaining his Royal College of Surgeons Membership in 2003 from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Dr Mistry further enhanced his surgical training at Blackburn Royal Infirmary, which is renowned for the quality of it academic and teaching staff in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, training as a junior surgeon and stepping up to senior grade surgeon level having responsibility for training and supervising junior surgeons and being 2nd on call. Through undergoing such advanced training, Dr Mistry gained experience of surgical implant placements on extremely compromised cases such as cancer reconstructions and reconstruction of road traffic accident victims. This routinely required advanced surgical procedures such as sinus lifts and bone grafts. Dr Mistry has since been on the academic teaching staff at Manchester Dental Hospital assisting the training of under graduate dental students in oral surgery and IV sedation and is also lead clinician for oral surgery in Halton and St Helens PCT accepting referrals for a variety of oral surgery procedures around the local area. Dr Mistry has undergone extensive post-graduate training and education in the field of dental implantology, from the very basic levels of training to advanced surgical and restorative cases. This includes zygomatic implants, surgical grafting of bone and plastic surgery of the gums, and also to replacement of all the teeth on the same day using implants, to attain the very best possible and predictable implant solutions. Dr Mistry is accepting referrals for all types of oral surgery, dental implant surgery and restorative cases. These can be treated under either local anaesthetic or IV sedations as necessary.
