Cyclone Nathan: TIO sends dedicated claims team to
Nhulunbuy
Nhulunbuy residents impacted by Cyclone Nathan will have access to a dedicated claims team in
town next week.
Customers who have enquiries or want to make claims will be able to have a face-to-face meeting
with claims centre staff who are flying in to assist local residents.
TIO Senior Claims Manager Margaret Pratten said the company had activated its Claims Response
Team to help those affected by the cyclone.
“We want to make sure we are here for Territorians when they need us the most,” Ms Pratten said.
“The Temporary Claims Centre will allow people to talk directly with one of our team in their home
town.”
Nhulunbuy and surrounding areas were hit by the Category 2 storm as it passed through Arnhem
Land earlier this week.
The Temporary Claims Centre will be established at the East Arnhem Regional Council office on the
corner of Chesterfield Circuit and Franklyn Street next week. It will be open from 10am to 4pm on
Tuesday 31 March and from 8am to 2pm on Wednesday 1 April.
People who are unable to visit the centre during these times can continue to make claims via the TIO
website (tiofi.com.au) or makes claims and enquiries through the TIO hotline – 1800 301 833.
