Western Governors University is a regionally accredited university and fulfills the prerequisite degree requirement for admissions to Graduate School. The Graduate School does not have a minimum GPA requirement. Once the student is admitted into the Graduate School, we then forward the student's information to the Graduate Coordinator for a program decision. b. There are several institutions that do not provide GPA's on the student's transcripts so we contact the institution to request a GPA to be calculated and reported. However, when Western Governors University was contacted they were unable to provide a GPA since they do not have a GPA scale. c. The Western Governors University transcripts key listed the following: Pass: Certifies successful completion on a course of study, The student has demonstrated the required competencies by passing the final assessment a grade equivalent of a "B" or better of 3.00 grade points on a 4.00 scale. d. Based on this information we enter a 3.0 GPA for the student and include a comment on the student's Graduate Student Acceptance Form (GSAF) for the Graduate Coordinators to consider when reviewing the GSAF. This is the standard comment, "Bachelors degree from Western Governors. The institution does not provide GPA's as they are on a Pass/Fail system. This student "Passed" which according to the institution: "The student has demonstrated the required competencies by passing the final assessment with a grade equivalent of B or better or 3.0 grade points on a 4.00 scale" e. The final decision for program admissions remains with the Graduate Coordinator. They have the authority to decide if information provided meets the program admissions standards. 7.
