GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The Greater Little Rock Chapter of the PSCNAA is offering two general
scholarships of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per semester to two full time
students who meet the criteria stated on the application.
The scholarships will be administered through the Greater Little Rock
Chapter of the Alumni Association of Philander Smith College. The recipients will
not receive cash money; a voucher for the amount of the scholarship will be
presented to the business office.
Applications may be secured from the Office of Student Financial Aid at
Philander Smith College. Recipients of the scholarship will be notified by the
Greater Little Alumni Chapter. Applicants must be Arkansas residents. The
deadlines to apply for scholarship are as follows:
Fall Semester – June 1
Spring Semester – November 1

Criteria:

Minimum cumulative GPA 2.5

Full-Time student

Demonstrate good moral character

This scholarship may be retained as long as the above criteria are met each
semester. REPLACEMENT: Recipient (s) of the scholarship may reapply
during subsequent semesters, providing he or she meets the criteria.

Write an essay, 250 words or less, to answer the following question: “How
will an education at Philander Smith College help me achieve my life’s goals?”

Essay must be typed.

Student must have a need and a balance owed to Philander Smith College.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.
