European Association for Audiovisual Communications has proven as an active participant in the global integration process, working hard to restore the relations between the countries and the preservation of their distinctive national cultures, rich history and national identities as part of the cultural diversity in the world.

One of the main projects of the Association is the Eurasian Cultural Corridor “Path of the

Rider”. The cultural heritage of Europe and Asia has a rich history and isconstantly being rediscovered. It gives a reason for an intellectual dialogue; a stimulus for exchange of ideas and development, of relations and partnerships; a meaning of the spiritual connections between different civilizations and religions. This crossroad does not recognize borders; it creates cultural corridors starting from Asia, passing through various countries, uniting and involving more and more nations, eventually reaching southeastern Europe and Bulgaria.

Eurasia represents a rich cultural-historical heritage that spreads across a huge territory and several millennia. Despite the large distances and the difficult geographic and climatic conditions, the inhabitants of these territories have been living in constant contact with each other and with other major centers of civilization, and were progressively relocating mainly from east to west. Powerful kingdoms and empires were flourishing and perishing, vicious conquests and slavery were both a reality, religions and ideologies were shifting, but the achievements of art and culture of those lands have never perished. It is exactly this mobility, typical to the nomadic lifestyle that makes the history and culture of the Eurasian nations from

China to Bulgaria so interdependent. The project Eurasian Cultural Corridor "Path of the

Rider" works in this direction, making sure that these relations are preserved today.

Eurasian Cultural Corridor "Path of the Rider" is a remarkable international project, bringing together the representatives of cultural, scientific and economic elite, youth movements and organizations, business and public institutions in many countries in Asia and Europe.

Aims and objectives:

The project by European Association for Audiovisual Communications – Eurasian Cultural

Corridor "Path of the Rider" – covers a historical heritage with common roots, internal bonds and mutual influences. This path, formed throughout the centuries, has preserved its ancient economical and cultural traditions, and includes the material and spiritual heritage of the nations and the countries along its route, based on a common historical past, aims to revive the relations between the nations of Europe and Asia and to transmit it to the subsequent generations.

European Association for Audiovisual Communications works hard to restore, promote and bring together all participants from Europe and Asia for the protection, popularization and sustainable development of the cultural and historical heritage in a shared cultural corridor from China to Bulgaria.

The slogan “From a shared past to future cooperation”, integrates well the objectives of the projects, namely: o To research, promote and preserve the unique and specific nature of the cultural heritage; to trace its origin and development from Asia to

Europe, as crossroads of different civilizations and religions, and a bridge for integration in a common Eurasian space; o To make the diverse cultural heritage throughout the path available for Europe and the rest of the world, so that it can be traced back and presented as an integral part of the world heritage; o To identify, research and promote ways for sustainable use of the cultural heritage throughout the Eurasian Cultural Corridor, as a specific resource for economic and social development and as a means of bringing people closer together; o To promote the cultural heritage as a basis for merging and overcoming the division on ethnic, religious and national basis; to foster the sense of pride from the achievements of the individual nations as part of the modern civilization.

“Path of the Rider" covers a wide variety of topics grouped into four main categories –

Culture, Education, Tourism and Economy, and one youth movement – New Generation. The structure will include a Culture Committee, Education Committee, Tourism

Committee,Economics Committee and Committee of the Youth Movement – New

Generation. Each Committee will be formed by two representatives from each of the countries involved in the project. Within each committee there will be an expert council set up to assist its work. It will include international experts in their respective fields from each country involved in the project. In each of these areas there will be exchange, integration, common activities and events aimed at revealing the cultural and historical heritage at different levels.

The creation of transnational and regional network of professionals, artists and activists will also be created for a successful realization of the aims of the project.

In Bulgaria, the country-organizer, central programming center will be set up that will coordinate the activities of the project in their respective countries. They will identify national focal affiliates. They will develop partnership arrangements with the participation of regional structures, institutions, institutes, business organizations and others. Within each participating country national coordination offices or affiliates will be operating that will provide permanent information and communication channels, stability, continuity and actuality of the functions and tasks of the project.

Within the project "Path of the Rider" all forms of direct and indirect audiovisual communications will be applied – meetings, seminars, symposiums, concerts, exhibitions,

festivals, cultural events, tourists products, development of historic sites, economic and public forums, and others.
