Procedure for PG Admission
A. Gian Sagar Dental College & Hospital, Ram Nagar (Rajpura), Distt. Patiala is affiliated with Baba
Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Recognized by the Dental Council of India and
Accredited by the International Accreditation Organization (IAO).
B. The normal duration of Post Graduate Dental Degree courses are Three years under three year
residency system. The course is governed by the rules and regulations of Baba Farid University
of Health Sciences/Dental Council of India/Govt. of Punjab.
C. The following Post Graduate Dental Degree Courses are approved by the Dental Council of India

Note: The category wise/quota wise distribution of seats will be notified at the time of counseling
by BFUHS.
D. Eligibility:(i)
The candidates should have passed basic qualification of BDS as per the criteria laid down
in the Punjab Govt. Notification 5/33//2014-5HBIII/423130/1 dated 25.02.2015 and its
amendment issued from time to time and as per rules and regulations of Baba Farid
University of Health Sciences, Faridkot for PG admission session 2015.
(ii)
The candidates should have qualified the All India Post Graduate Dental Entrance
Examination (AIPGDEE)-2015.
(iii) After exhausting the merit list of AIPGDEE-2015, if seats still remain vacant then the
remaining seats will be filled on merit on the basis of individual cumulative performance
at the first, second, third and final BDS examinations passed from Baba Farid University
of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
E. Selection/Admission Procedure:
(i)
The admission shall be made on the basis of merit obtained in All India Post Graduate
Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGDEE)-2015 through Central Counseling conducted by
Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. If seats still remain vacant then the
remaining seats will be filled on merit on the basis of individual cumulative performance
at the first, second, third and final BDS examinations passed from Baba Farid University
of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

All the candidates who have qualified the All India Post Graduate Dental Entrance
Examination (AIPGDEE)-2015 and fulfill the other conditions laid down by the Punjab
Govt. in its notifications for PG admission shall have to apply for admission to MDS
courses to the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
After 2nd Counseling if the seats still remained vacant which will be filled by the college
Authorities as per the procedure contained in the Punjab Govt. Notification.
The Cut-off date for admission is 31.05.2015.
F. Medical examination:
Each selected candidate is required to report for medical examination on dates notified for this
purpose at the time of counseling and also bring with them the original Certificates/ documents as
mentioned below and thereafter deposit the all charges on the same day:1) Selection Letter from the Central Admission Committee.
2) Admit Card of AIPGDEE 2015
3) Result Card of AIPGDEE 2015.
4) Date of Birth Certificate/Matriculation Certificate showing date of birth.
5) Detail Marks of all Prof. of BDS Course.
6) Internship Completion Certificate.
7) Attempt Certificate
8) BDS Degree.
9) Good Conduct /Character Certificate from the institution last attended.
10) Certificate of reserved category from the competent authority, if any reservation is claimed.
11) Proof of Permanent Registration with State Dental Council/DCI.
12) Migration Certificate (if candidates has obtained degree from a university other than
BFUHS, Faridkot).
13) Receipt of Provisional Tuition Fee for the first year issued by BFUHS.
14) Bank draft of other charges in favour of Principal, Gian Sagar Dental College & Hospital
payable at the time of admission.
15) Punjab Residence Certificate.
16) Gap in studies affidavit, if applicable.
17) Ten unattested copies of Passport size photograph.
18) Five unattested copies of Stamp size photograph.
19) Undertaking regarding Ragging (In English and Punjabi is compulsory).

G4. Refund of Tuition Fee:
Fees, once paid, shall NOT be refunded except when a candidate is admitted/shifted from
one college to subsequent Centralized counseling/operation of waiting list through B.F.U.H.S.
General Information
1. All admissions are provisional and are subject to approval by Baba Farid University of Health
Sciences, Faridkot.
2. The courses of study and examinations will be governed by the regulations of BFUHS and
DCI.
3. Inter-Dental college migration is not permitted except under extraordinary circumstances as
per rules of DCI.
4. The fees may be revised as and when required by the Management on the guidelines of Govt.
of Punjab. The revised fees will be applicable irrespective of the conditions mentioned as
above.
5. The Rules and Regulations may be revised as and when required by Govt./Management and
the revised rules and regulations will be applicable irrespective of the conditions mentioned in
this prospectus.
6. Very Important regarding Ragging:Ragging is strictly banned in side/outside the Campus and is criminal offence.
Ragging is strictly banned by the Govt. of India/Supreme Court of India/Our Gian
Sagar Educational Institutions/other authorities. Now a days “Ragging” is synonym of
Teasing, abusing, playing practical jokes, threatening, harassment, cruelty, fear,
Physical and mental torture.
“If any incidence of ragging comes to the notice of the authorities, the concerned students
shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her explanation is not found satisfactory, the
authorities would expel him/her from the institution.”
In case the victim of ragging, his/her parent/guardian is not satisfied with the action taken
by the College authorities or College authority is of the opinion that incident ought to be so
reported, a First Information Report (FIR) with local Police authority shall be filed.
7. Misbehavior/ criminal activity of student will attract expulsion from the institution.
8. Mobile phone not allowed in classroom, if found will be confiscated and will be returned only
to parents for first time, second time it will not be returned at all.
9. The tuition fee/other charges for year will have to be deposited at the time of admission before
start of classes.
10. The students are required to maintain a record of their training on a daily basis counter signed
by the supervising faculty in the P.G. log books as per requirement of DCI. All
certificates/recommendation/confidential reports will be based on entries in the P.G. log
books.
11. All the Post Graduate students are expected to registrar themselves with Baba Farid
University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. They must present a thesis plan within 6 months of
admission. The Thesis must be adequately supervised. The final thesis submission must be
completed at least 6 months before the final examinations.
